Are you imminently moving to Vegas?

Seems like a strange place to live, in a pretty good way

Yea. Pretty soon. Can't stand it here too much longer. Lots of the porn industry relocated there. A lot of my friends live there too.

Oooh then not only will you be 6 hrs away from Arizona

you'll be about 4 hours away from me.

Then we can go to one of those roulette or craps tables and win big if I knew how to gamble

Craps still confuses me to this day, but I know some other games. I know how to lose lots of money at poker too.

I've seen enough youtube tutorials to know I'll always forget how to play craps

And cool, I also know how to lose money. Maybe it'll cancel out and we win big

I like your style 😏

If it's not that hard to learn I'll do it too. I have an uncle that knows how and said he'd teach me one day but he moved to Texas

Well it is more effective in teams.

It's not hard to learn. The hard thing is doing it in the casino while everything is moving fast, youre playing, people are talking to you, and keep your focus, remember what the count is, and not get distracted or make it too obvious youre doing it.

You know a lot about this. I bet you'd do well in Vegas

so well that you roll into casinos with the confidence of Meryl Streep in The Devil Wears Prada

I usually do. But I still usually lose money if I play poker in the poker room. I still get nervous playing poker in person w/strangers.

I typically play video poker to kill time which I've had pretty decent luck w/honestly. Then go play blackjack. If I pay w/cash for drinks and get singles in the change, I'll put those in random slots as I walk around.

I've never seriously counted cards in person. But if I move to vegas I think itll be fun to actually get good at doing it.

You also have to memorize the strategy tables. Which you should do to get good at even if not counting cards. Youd think it's simple but it's a bit more complicated than you might think.

My life goal for gaming is to get good enough that I can count at bj, make a chunk of $$, then use that as my bank in the poker room and win there. Then take however much I took from the casino initially by counting and give the house a chance to win it back from me by playing it at roulette. If I lose at roulette, i still take my poker winnings home (which I took from other players, not the house), and if I hit big at roulette, fuck the house, maybe I'll just take it.

Basically just playing in the poker room w/the casino's own money.

Every major casino uses AI on the cameras to know exactly what each player on the floor is doing, how much they won, how much they lose, what kind of bets they make, etc. So by giving the house back its money, I wouldn't be very likely to get kicked out for counting. Tho in vegas it doesnt matter so much bc theres so many casinos.

Can attest to how complicated black jack can be.  I only play with my bother because he's hella good, and I always missing some of the rules when I'm playing.

Very complicated for sure, but it's 100% memory and focus.

If you're not counting, once you memorize the optimal strategy for the rules you're playing w/, then it's just spending the time at the table. You don't have to think at all, just remember your strategy table accurately.

Then if you're counting, it's still relatively robotic preplanned decisions. Concealing that you're counting and if you have a team, concealing your signals and movements. Resisting distraction. That makes it a bit more adversarial but still not as much of a battle as poker.

You can get Black Jack games for your phone that train you.  That's what I do.

I have a blackjack game on my phone I forgot about. You start off with either $1000 or $500 I forgot. I haven't played in a while but I'm up to $98,000 in it.

If only that was real money 😢

Just remember, when counting cards, scope the tables first.  Skip any establishments with continuous shuffle machines.  Look for low deck number shoes and hand shuffles.  Gamble downtown when you can, though I hear that's changing fast, too.  Tacos been kicked once or twice for counting, and he's pretty good at it.

We'll see. Find a reputable online guide, book, or video series and start there.

It's not hard to do. It's pretty easy, actually. It just takes time, patience, and math. It's literal basic math.
