Well, it's both true and not true, in that many jobs DO ask for a significant amount of experience, even for entry level positions.

However, since those requests are usually unreasonable, and folx with experience aren't always in the market for a new job, it's possible to get those jobs with less experience. However, the one with less experience AND a networking advantage usually gets it.

Did you tell him you are a call center, low paid piece of shit who fucks random dudes every weekend, and you may or may not be pregnant? But you can't afford the dollar store pregnancy test to find out? Did you tell him you are an internet whore that still lives with her mom, and you buy pussy spray to cover up the smell your black hole puts off? Did you tell him you fake a mental illness for attention? Because if you did, I'm sure he didn't run to an internet forum and rake you over the coals for it.

if she were any kind of help, she might suggest that this co~worker look into 'green' design, and/or expanding on that field.

but...here we are, she mocking him, and us shaking our heads in disapproval.

I dunno what is green design

So yesterday you have sympathy for those in this situation and today you're making fun of them and blaming their misfortune on themselves?

Omg dont u know theres loads of entry level u can get with just a degree? I see loads of office jobs that all u need is a bachelor's to get the job. The dude can do way better than min.wage with that amount of education.

Professional degrees are different.  First off, an architectural degree from an accredited school is 5 years, not 4.  If you don't have a degree from an accredited school, you're somewhat limited in opportunities in the field.  It used to be that one could take the licensing exam without a degree as long as he or she worked for a licensed architect for at least seven years, but that has since been disallowed in many jurisdictions.  If he doesn't have a degree from an accredited school, he probably is being locked out of a lot of the potential architectural jobs out there.

And Verizon wireless. Right now vzw pays $17 hour to start u off...personally i just don't want to go back to the crazy schedule...but trust me...this dude would definitely be hired there.

Firstly, unless you live in literal Dougal County, $17.00 is hardly the best job in the city. What about your manager at the time? Your job was better than theirs?

Entry level sales jobs in general often have very little posted requirements, whether they be experience or education. That's how I got into insurance sales. They literally didn't even give a shit that I had a college degree. The fact that I went door to door collecting money for my paper route was more attractive to them.

Apply anyway. Do something to stand out. Do anything you can. Tell them why you don't need experience and you're the one. Anything and everything you're willing to do to get it really.

It's hard enough getting interviews for positions I DO meet the posted requirements for. :|

If you know what the job is and you can do it, then you do meet the requirements
