I kind of envy that

my sleep schedule was destroyed from working 3rd shift for 3 years

I worked overnight for years too, in the grocery business. I was the overnight manager. It sucked working overnight, but it sucked worse trying to sleep during the day. Day sleeping does not compare to sleeping at night. I could never get used to it. Even though I did it for many years.

I did CNC machining for a big oil company and overnight there were way less chiefs and you pretty much got left alone plus they paid you very well to work the 3rd shift

It was fun but A) our lunch break was at 3 am so I spent many a nights eating wafflehouse because everything else was closed and B) trying to go to sleep at 9 am is a complete mind fuck

We didn't take a break when I was working grocery. It was kind of a team decision. Either take a lunch break and a 15 minute break, or we can knock out the work, and not have to stay that much longer in the morning. We all agreed to not take breaks. We just busted ass from clock in til clock out, and left. Of course, since I was the manager, I opened the doors for first shift to come in at 5 am, and then I was out the door. Whether the job was done or not. Perks of being the boss. Plus, I had a two hour, one-way drive to the house every morning. I worked from 8pm til 5 am everyday. 4 hours of driving time each day. But the pay was awesome.

up until October 1937 I worked in a coal mine. For many a year everything was fine and pretty much uneventful Until the mine started to collapse in the fall of 1937. Men were panicking, praying, some even crying until Big John took control of the situation. John measured about 6'6" and weighed about 245 lb. he but the brunt of his weight and mass against one of the collapsing pillars, and delayed the mine's collapse until we all got out. Unfortunately John never made it out alive.

A couple of days later, we put a sign in front of that pit that reads, "AT THE BOTTOM OF THIS MINE LIES ONE HELL OF A MAN"

Sounds like Big John's bitch ass got what was coming to him. Selflessness will get you killed.

not really feeling motivated to do anything today. I still need to actually do some work, go to the store, make dinner, do more mom things, get ready for work & school tomorrow

..... maybe think about going to the free counseling center for my social anxiety
