1938 Packard Posted November 10, 2017 Posted November 10, 2017 Nielsen sent me a radio listening log. Good, maybe my favorite station would get the hint that news and commentary listeners tune out when sporting events pop on.
Ginguy Posted November 10, 2017 Posted November 10, 2017 I've done those before, except it isn't Neilson that rates radio, it is Arbitron.....
1938 Packard Posted November 10, 2017 Author Posted November 10, 2017 I've done those before, except it isn't Neilson that rates radio, it is Arbitron..... At least that's the way it has been, but my most recent envelope says Nielsen. Maybe they merged or something.
bnmjy Posted November 10, 2017 Posted November 10, 2017 What valuable data your listening to Coast to Coast Am will provide. >
1938 Packard Posted November 10, 2017 Author Posted November 10, 2017 What valuable data your listening to Coast to Coast Am will provide. > It's a group thing, silly. Nielsen will also see which shows are least popular by the number of people tuning out at certain times. Maybe hockey will finally get canned next year in favor of something newsworthy.
1938 Packard Posted November 10, 2017 Author Posted November 10, 2017 don't you get 5 dollarinos Can I exchange them for wulongs?
scoobdog Posted November 10, 2017 Posted November 10, 2017 Nielsen sent me a radio listening log. Good, maybe my favorite station would get the hint that news and commentary listeners tune out when sporting events pop on. Or maybe they'll post your log at the office cooler so everyone can laugh at you. I'm thinking that.
1938 Packard Posted November 10, 2017 Author Posted November 10, 2017 Or maybe they'll post your log at the office cooler so everyone can laugh at you. I'm thinking that. What's there to laugh at? I don't know anybody who doesn't listen to radio. It's just the station choices that make the difference. There's the top 40 station, the country station, the local college station, two news and talk stations, the oldies station... Everybody picks one or two.
André Toulon Posted November 10, 2017 Posted November 10, 2017 My god, do people still carry 6 shooters and lope where you live.
Sandstone Posted November 10, 2017 Posted November 10, 2017 I'm sure Rush Limbaugh and Mike Levin will appreciate your ratings.
Zenigundam Posted November 10, 2017 Posted November 10, 2017 Sandy, I don't think you understand that network television programmers obsess over Nielsen ratings. They might never watch any of the shows on air, but they are, by and large, statisticians who are supposed to properly construct schedules that will optimize ratings.
1938 Packard Posted November 10, 2017 Author Posted November 10, 2017 My god, do people still carry 6 shooters and lope where you live. You're thinking about Wyoming.

I know what the fuck Neilsen ratings are you asslicker, I have been one for several years now. He's not even talking about the TV rating division he's talking about radio. Fuck off will you, stooge.
lupin_bebop Posted November 10, 2017 Posted November 10, 2017 Sandy, I don't think you understand that network television programmers obsess over Nielsen ratings. They might never watch any of the shows on air, but they are, by and large, statisticians who are supposed to properly construct schedules that will optimize ratings. Shut the fuck up, Zeni
lupin_bebop Posted November 10, 2017 Posted November 10, 2017 Yeah......because people still listen to radio in 2017.
scoobdog Posted November 10, 2017 Posted November 10, 2017 What's there to laugh at? That someone still listens to AM talk. They're probably planning, as we speak, how to yank your favorite shows off the air to maximize the cruelty.
Zenigundam Posted November 10, 2017 Posted November 10, 2017 Yeah......because people still listen to radio in 2017. Plenty of people listen to music on the radio, LB. If that weren't true, all of those radio stations would have shut down. Gotta get in touch with the times
1938 Packard Posted November 10, 2017 Author Posted November 10, 2017 That someone still listens to AM talk. They're probably planning, as we speak, how to yank your favorite shows off the air to maximize the cruelty. So, the New York radio market doesn't exist? Why is Michael Savage rated number one in that city and time slot?
scoobdog Posted November 10, 2017 Posted November 10, 2017 So, the New York radio market doesn't exist? Why is Michael Savage rated number one in that city and time slot? You don't live in New York City.
1938 Packard Posted November 10, 2017 Author Posted November 10, 2017 You don't live in New York City. Let me see whether Savage can pull off ratings like that here, too.
SwimModSponges Posted November 10, 2017 Posted November 10, 2017 Yeah......because people still listen to radio in 2017. Id say the majority of wisconsinites listen to the radio multiple times throughout the course of a week. Most of the stations are terrible, but theyre still there.
Sandstone Posted November 10, 2017 Posted November 10, 2017 So, the New York radio market doesn't exist? Why is Michael Savage rated number one in that city and time slot? Somehow I knew you were a Savage listener... I didn't mention him because I wanted to give you the benefit of the doubt. He's arguably the worst of all the radio talkheads. He's almost as crazy as Alex Jones. one of those fucking morons that floats conspiracy theories about how bad psychiatric meds and vaccinations are making people sick.
1pooh4u Posted November 10, 2017 Posted November 10, 2017 You don't live in New York City. Thank the good lord for that
scoobdog Posted November 10, 2017 Posted November 10, 2017 Let me see whether Savage can pull off ratings like that here, too. I'm pretty sure he can't, given the casinos are replacing all those worthless union janitors with Jose and his extended family.

His most adamant critics have never heard his show.
naraku360 Posted November 10, 2017 Posted November 10, 2017 His most adamant critics have never heard his show. Have they never heard of his show because it's on the radio?
lupin_bebop Posted November 11, 2017 Posted November 11, 2017 Id say the majority of wisconsinites listen to the radio multiple times throughout the course of a week. Most of the stations are terrible, but theyre still there. Yeah.......Wisconsin. The constipated 7 year old of the United States.
1938 Packard Posted November 11, 2017 Author Posted November 11, 2017 Yeah.......Wisconsin. The constipated 7 year old of the United States. Manhattan and Los Angeles are big radio markets too. And Philly, and Houston, Dallas, Toronto...
scoobdog Posted November 11, 2017 Posted November 11, 2017 Have they never heard of his show because it's on the radio? His real name is Weiner, so I'm sure they just assumed he was also a Pedo.
1938 Packard Posted November 11, 2017 Author Posted November 11, 2017 Have they never heard of his show because it's on the radio? Okay... so, why does Nielsen count ratings in every market when you think nobody ever listens to radio?
scoobdog Posted November 11, 2017 Posted November 11, 2017 Okay... so, why does Nielsen count ratings in every market when you think nobody ever listens to radio? It's not Nielson. It's really the G-Men. They're coming for you, Kenny,
1938 Packard Posted November 11, 2017 Author Posted November 11, 2017 It's not Nielson. It's really the G-Men. They're coming for you, Kenny, Tuning a radio isn't a crime, idiot.
naraku360 Posted November 11, 2017 Posted November 11, 2017 Tuning a radio isn't a crime, idiot. They should make you using the internet a crime. Save all those poor brain cells from a grisly murder.
Sandstone Posted November 11, 2017 Posted November 11, 2017 His most adamant critics have never heard his show. I have heard his show. I listened to conservative radio regularly off and on for years, mostly so I could hear what they were saying. And he says, in particular, is a conspiracy and harmful ones at that, he actively dissuades people from taking psychiatric medications, floats the ideas that psychiatry is pseudo-science and evil and that psychiatrists are not to be trusted. Take herbal supplements instead. I know for a fact he is one of those god-awful vaccine conspiracists that says vaccines are evil and being foisted on kids to fuck them up (intentionally).

Five years with him babbling through my Blaupunkt and the closest I ever heard him say to that was when he lamented some doctors being paid commission for certain prescriptions.
André Toulon Posted November 11, 2017 Posted November 11, 2017 You're thinking about Wyoming. Nice retort, Lousy.
scoobdog Posted November 11, 2017 Posted November 11, 2017 Five years with him babbling through my Blaupunkt and the closest I ever heard him say to that was when he lamented some doctors being paid commission for certain prescriptions. You mean that shitty Bluetooth speaker?. That thing probably doesn't work half the time.
1938 Packard Posted November 11, 2017 Author Posted November 11, 2017 You mean that shitty Bluetooth speaker?. That thing probably doesn't work half the time. No, it's Blaupunkt, a German radio.
