As an old young person who still reads the Sunday paper, I can confirm that the problem with Dilbert is that at some point Scott Adams began agreeing with the Pointy-Haired Boss-like people in real life.
Honestly I don't think anyone had "The star player on your favorite team's opponent may have brought a gun to someone and later that gun was used to kill somebody, but let him play during the investigation anyway" on their bingo cards.
