  1. Classic fucking swooped in for the steal. Buddy birthday threads is like my gig!
  2. They make it look free wheeling, but they have a reputation of being extremely thorough.
  3. Except the guys and gals on Mythbusters are, you know, actually competent scientists.
  4. We really haven't heard from the students. Just the teachers with some axes to grind.
  5. Kids eating sushi on the floor kind of vibes?
  6. That’s a real buzzkill. I’ll play @Neko
  7. It isn’t loaded. Anti-Zionism isn’t a thing because it conflates Israeli statehood with extremism elements in Jewish society. It’s a trojan horse for white supremacists who wish to use the Palestinian cause as a vehicle for their virulent antisemitism. The problem is that a lot of Americans don’t know how to differentiate extremist elements within Jewish society. For the same reason a vast majority of reasonable Americans can be saddled with worthless wretch that they didn’t vote for (Trump), a majority of Israeli people have to contend with corrupt self-dealing Netanyahu without having voted for him. That isn’t something that’s easily presented in an argument for Palestinian rights and it’s why supposedly intelligent and capable university presidents end up waffling when all pro Palestinian protests are portrayed as antisemitism. There has to be separation between Israel’s right to exist as a state and elements within that state that turn a blind eye to illegal settlements and use terrorism laws to incarcerate non violent Palestinian; that separation disappears when a term like Anti-Zionism is used to describe Israel’s government’s actions.
  8. I get that, and yes he is. Like Odin says, you're supposed to clarify with the DJ or LJ, the reason being that he or she can see all three points of the imaginary line - the receiver's toe, the ball, and the down marker on the far side. The receiver theoretically can't accurately see his own point because he's standing over it, so his only two reference points is the ball and down marker. I'm not really saying the guy couldn't have or shouldn't have known (or at least set a yard or so behind), just that he's getting dragged a little unfairly for not seeing something that would be obvious to someone behind him but not necessarily obvious to him.
  9. I can see that it’s an off sides, but I kind of feel for the receiver. It’s sometimes really hard to tell where you are on the field, without the benefit of an overhead shot, because there really aren’t many points of reference.
  10. I'm not going to bother looking up the article to this obvious click-bait headline. Suffice it to say that genocide doesn't need to be one sided - the term can equally apply to the actions of all members of Hamas, who clearly annunciate the destruction of Israel as part of their platform, and to the actions of a select few in Israel's government and defense force that allow indiscriminate targeting of unarmed and unaffiliated Palestinian citizens. The problem is that the term is being coopted by bad actors who will use the term as a cultural component rather than specific to actions and words.
  11. Happy Birthday!
  12. I don't think he adapted either, but it looks like he was a producer. He was close to Rob Reiner.
  13. My brother has rules like that.
  14. So, we can all agree flooding tunnels = lots of dead people ≠ dead Hamas, right?
  15. OKay, so if we're trying to avoid the pit-falls like the Eugenics Wars, what are you expecting Star Trek writers to do to achieve that?
  16. Would you say applesauce on its own or at least as a critical condiment to an entree?
  17. I'm not sure what point your YT would serve. Star Trek is a work of fiction, not a how-to manual for creating a utopia, so it goes without saying that solving neurodivergent prejudice is outside its purview. Are you asking for some kind of prequel where a neurodivergent astronaut in the 2000s overcomes the odds to chart a path into the cosmos? What exactly do you think the producers and Paramount are doing wrong?
  18. I would hold off on that asylum offer for a li'l bit - at least until all the future sink holes in Gaza settle. I mean, give the guy credit: finding a way to turn a foreign country into Florida and not somehow get shellacked by a con man is an accomplishment all itself.
  19. Don't know about the well liked thing, but Pelosi has endured hundreds of time the slander of any other politician in modern history and still did a good enough job to be elected to the speakership twice.
  20. Saving this post for later evidence of potential greatness.
