  1. I read this and thought the Vikings lost…
  2. If only Ghosty had wagered.
  3. Our receivers were dropping everything last night, and we still pitched a 41 point shutout.
  4. Always a good day seeing the Irish lose, but it's even better knowing tsar's alma mater was the one to do it.
  5. Nope, but I'm a night owl.
  6. The one where I vote you and not the one where I tell you to fuck off.
  7. So, he really has only one choice.
  8. Sure, I'll vote for you. Unless you're running as a Republican. In that case you can fuck off. But if not, you definitely have my vote.
  9. I disagree. Not that youth mental health isn't in crisis - mass shooting events aren't really about mental health, and they never were. The problem is that the shooters aren't merely disturbed, they're disconnected. If you attempt to collect the various backstories for the mental health of these shooters, you'll not only find that there isn't an obvious stressor or a pattern of abuse, you'll also find the source of the distress tends to be an accumulation of fairly mundane slights that compound. You can fairly argue that toxic masculinity is a key component; yet it's not new while school shootings have definitively increased. The only real correlation you'll find is that all of these kids "kept to themselves," or "didn't talk much"/"was quiet." That is a tell tale sign that they're not included within society, and don't have access to the rudimentary coping tools they would ordinarily use to deal with stressors. It's also an indication that there is nothing for them to reckon with - they have no connection to society so there is no break to grieve. That might easily explain how it continues to happen so easily.
  10. That is outright strange. His discord profile was in Russian and it was accessed in Buffalo, NY. At any rate, it curdles my blood to think it, but what if the whole point of doing nothing to stop kids from shooting up schools is, in fact, that those shootings need to happen? We rarely talk about the aftermath of school shootings, except for the occasional Alex Jones beatdown and the brave, lonely quest of David Hogg, and I dread that is intentional. The flip side to a loss of innocence is a proverbial baptism in fire; you can't help but think that 2nd Amendment fanatics, the gun lobby, and conservative politicians forsee a future where everyone owns a weapon and is willing to use it.
  11. Wrong birthday, though. I guess she could have changed it for the alt, but its rather specific.
  12. The draft grade is stupid.
  13. I think he envisioned a bunch of you’s. You’re the right amount of irreverent, witty and intelligence: your trolling tends to be engaging, and it shows in the kind of engagement your threads get. Guys like you offer a net benefit. However, with every Buddy, there’s bad trolls like Bucket that are idiots, psychopaths like Viper, and their unholy offspring like…. several others.
  14. Motherfucker does not learn, does he?
  15. That was never alleged; they were always honest about the fact there wasn't enough people on the ASMB to warrant the cost. In fact, Luuv marketed the UEMB as being less restrictive than the ASMB which, in hindsight, might have needed a little more fleshing out.
  16. That sounds really good. Del Taco is doing an Danny Trejo Al Pastor burrito that's actually not half bad.
  17. It's a game to see if Trump has all of his marbles.
  18. Both can be true simultaneously. My point is that once the election is over, the opposition likely dissipates. I would never discount racism; I just don't think it's much of, if at all, a factor here because of how deep anti-Chinese sentiment runs. Stupid white people might assume that anyone that has ethnic Han features is Chinese, but they still know the difference between Japanese and Chinese corporations. In fact, if this deal does not go through, there is likely a Chinese proxy rather than a mythical American savior waiting in the wings to swoop in. It's a brutal and somewhat craven game of cat and mouse, where, ultimately, politicians find a way to shine the light in another direction and let the deal go through, out of sight.
  19. As an aside, that phrase is a perfect example of how anti-semitism tends to creep in under the noses of the unsuspecting. Anti-semitism was rampant and mostly unchecked well before last October partly because anti-semites have been able to hide behind phraseology that is divorced from who is actually using it.
  20. Beat me to it. A phrase that specific can't be separated from the unsaid elements that provide context. More importantly, it gives legitimacy to terrorists who have hijacked a legitimate cause for freedom and highlights one of the biggest stumbling blocks to a proper two state solution.
  21. I'm not sure why it would hurt personally. Having an iconic steel mill owned by a foreign corporation is problematic, at best, even considering the buyer is friendly and fairly integrated into our economy already. It creates the unpalatable trade off of a keeping American jobs while handing off control of a natural resource and the profits to a foreign corporation, which is a proverbial third rail for any political candidate. That being said, I wouldn't interpret candidates speaking out against it as actual opposition either. The US government isn't in a position to be critical of an ally, especially not one so critical to its bulwark against China. This is more likely to be angling to put in some US friendly provisions during the negotiation.
  22. One of the advantages of this community is that it's exponentially smaller than 4 chan or 8 chan, and users don't have the necessary anonymity to operate as dedicated bad actors. I would imagine the sheer size of those communities makes it easy for dedicated trolls to operate long term without being pegged and having to adapt their operation to be effective.
  23. Butt seriously, you got to appreciate how hard it is for him to work himself up.
