  11. There will always be those people, of course. But, human migration patterns are far more economical than that, and, more importantly, the psychology of negative conditioning has fundamental limits. The fact of the matter is humans are social, or pack, animals. They dont necessarily need to be in physical contact, but they still need to interact with other humans to properly function. As nice as it would be to say that the predicted staggering death toll will be a wake up call for Americans, we were well aware of what was going on in Italy and we still didn't change our behavior, and it isn't likely to change even with catastrophic devastation. You have to replace the social aspect while maintaining the physical separation.
  12. You're not wrong to think that, but that's only because it's half of the equation. Trump burying his hand in the sand didn't help, but in general, there isn't a way to prepare for a crisis of this magnitude because we haven't seen one like it in just over a century. Getting people to stay at home isn't achieved just by dire warnings and guilt, it also means keeping them engaged and part of the effort to combat the virus in whatever small way they can. Having a donation drive is one way to achieve that. Having anyone with a sewing machine at home make masks is another. Even getting parents involved in distance education is crucial. You can only scare people for so long before they become numb to the danger; you have to also "reward" them with a stake in the process in whatever small way.

  18. That is an awful lot for one person to deal with. Is there anything you can do to escape the stress just for a few moments? Your art seems to have really caught the anguish you're going through...

  20. So..... idyllic.
  21. And I’m perfect.
  22. That’s impressive.
  23. But.... Wouldn't that just be the sound of the ocean taking the beach to pound town...?
