  1. @Master-Debater131: I’m not discounting how weak Burden is, but DeSantis is most definitely not challenging him or Trump at this point. The core issue of his candidacy, his likability, isn’t showing signs of improvement. His big launch should have put a lot of his recent foibles to bed even though Musk predictably botched it. In fact, the server overload should have been an opportunity for him to go off script and show his natural charm to woo voters. Instead it got dragged and overblown as a catastrophe. He’s not connecting to people. A big part of it is his slow response times. For instance, he didn’t come up with the idea he broke the internet (Musk did during the interlude) so, when his campaign repeated it, most everyone ignored them. But that also points to troubling inclinations toward using other people to prop up his charisma. He doesn’t seem to have a read on how people will react to him when he does something, partly explaining how Disney continues to outflank his various attempts at subjugating them. All the way back to last year’s hurricane, one of the defining photos shows Biden casually talking to two local officials while DeSantis is stomping ahead in his white boots. These kinds of disconnects are extremely problematic for a candidate who’s expected to woo voters that don’t share his beliefs.
  2. That’s what you think.
  3. Lol. We’re coordinating with Pat for a big reveal, but the rules are at the top. We’re doing teams this time.
  4. But, I do.
  5. I can't imagine she would permit then to treat her like a freshman, so it's likely that's just a sign of how little respect she has earned (in addition to the fact she got laughed at). I find it fascinating because she was working so hard to position herself as a power player while trying to get McCarthy the speakership. It's apparent her efforts did not raise her profile in any meaningful way.
  6. It's funny especially since she's not a freshman congressperson any more.
  7. I guess I shouldn't have been surprised, but the most notable thing for me about the Pyongyang airport was how small it was for a nation's capitol. The terminals do look similar in set up, but John Wayne is a regional airport despite having some international flights that go in and out and has only one commercial, one GA runway (LAX has three commercial and one GA/Commercial). It also has far more restrictions to its operations than LAX, such as noise ordinances, which impact the number and time of the flights going in and out. In that respect, the cleanliness ofJohn Wayne is at least partly a function of light use. Comparatively, Pyongyang Sunan International Airport has just two terminals (LAX has nine) and two runways (albeit fairly long ones). It looks like the video was taken from the 7-8 year old international terminal which would be unlikely to have much use in any situation. It would be interesting to see what the domestic terminal would look like given the likelihood there are more domestic flights and there are fewer reasons to maintain a pristine space.
  8. I think we have a candidate for yet another split discussion.
  9. That turf field is absolutely shit. It’s what ended up injuring Caleb Willliams.
  10. John Wayne is pretty nice, actually.
  11. It just occurred to me…. DeSantis moves like that poor dummy Musk launched into space in the roadster.
  12. In mean, they actually pull the field outside and leave out until the game.
  13. It was a surprisingly nice airport.
  14. Almost as excited as he was to be back in Beijing of all places.
  15. The rule is more or less unnecessary given no one I can remember has ever fair-caught a kickoff behind the 25, but the greater issue is the response to a problem in football has always been to just eliminate the situation rather than fix the mechanics. Why are kickoffs more violent now than they were 50 years ago?
  16. Should probably just get rid of the kickoff all together.
  17. At the very least, that would suggest that the extreme right has had a greater detrimental effect on political campaigns than the extreme left.
  18. Unfortunately, there are far too many parallels between Kim Il Sung's incursion below the 38th Parallel and Putin's incursion into Ukraine, not the least of which is a the astronomical loss of life for a comparatively minor shift in the border.
  19. Well, that and a stubborn insistence on taking away women's, LGBTQ+'s, and minorities' rights.
  20. I guess it’s hard to challenge your own intellect when you don’t speak English.
  21. I actually like what the Raiders and Cardinals do… play indoors on real turf. Watching football in 100° F heat is the definition of lunacy no matter how authentic the experience is, but it’s a hell of a lot better than playing on plastigrass.
  22. Mid afternoon starts are my favorite because I don’t end up getting home at 1 am.
  23. Now we’re getting someplace.
