Fun fact- the original snake oil was harvested from snakes native to China, and was actually packed full of antioxidants and all kinds of other great stuff. Then when the chinese were brought over as cheap labor to work the mines, they brought their snake oil idea. Unfortunately, the snakes native to the American west did not have the same genes as the chinese snakes, and so their remedy turned into a punchline. The more you know.

I've done original things: my submission to the writing contest (that I'm still sad you didn't come back in time to enter) was an entirely original idea.
