  1. It'll Be Weird Never Having another lineup promo (i understand when things got too hectic those became unsustainable)because it did a decent job of frequently promoting the lineup through out the week during regular adultswim hours although I'll really miss seeing those "Next Time On" Promo's they used to do for more shows especially since they tend to cut out the episode preview clips that happen after the credits in every anime the exception being attack on titan if it's merely the bumpers experiencing a budget cut....then that makes me a little more optimistic as the last thing i wanted to think about was the possibility of them having to do some outlandish stuff if The 2020 Budget Cuts were still wrecking havoc on acquisitions in some way shape or form things did get chaotic near the end of last year....i can agree we don't want another situation like that although i wonder why after saying there were still 2 or 3 more shows left to announce(before attack on titan was announced)demarco then went on to treat the 2/12 schedule as if it's the permanent schedule moving forward doubling up a show has never been a permanent fixture on the block....typically it's to stall for time so to see double one piece treated as something normal did surprise me
  2. because taking advice from people on a message board that doesn't know what it is anymore...would be a good idea
  3. No I Don't have depression but thanks for making the assumption
  4. stuff like this not only makes me feel old but also reminds you that one piece has been going on for so long that it's been on the foxbox toonami and the adultswim version of toonami all while still being a currently running series
  5. Be Serious for one damn moment....i know that might be impossible for you but just....for once don't call this needless hatred for the block and everything on it budget this budget that has always been in the conversation for one reason or another....not enough money lack of money and I'm not bringing it up to even humor the idea that toonami's dead or dying I'm bringing it up because the factors that led to reduced budgets across the board aren't the same as they were in 2020 we don't have comic book publishers unable to release new titles with The Main Distributor shutdown anymore all live events aren't off the table and canceled anymore theaters aren't closed down ghost towns anymore
  6. six episodes and the crew has reunited.... if doubling up barely has any effect on story progression then that tells you how crap the pacing is
  7. having a smaller budget is something i can understand for that period but it seems like those budget cuts just aren't going away loss of ad-revenue from live sports was one of the reasons things had to be cut across the board....but those have been back for awhile now the packaging budget was noted to have been slashed recently(explaining the weirdness around bumpers lately)
  8. it's crazy to think one piece was on toonami in 2005...then again in the early years of the toonami reboot before leaving in 2017 then this year it comes back for a third time what's even crazier is the realization that if someone was watching this in 2005 when they were 10 years old...they'd be 27 right now
  9. i think what hurts that show the most is initially the name and the poster would lead you to believe Fena would be fighting alongside her allies...that she'd be a pirate princess however that wasn't the case and she was typically the damsel in distress
  10. Demarco's still promoting originals as Toonami's future moving forward so i doubt Originals are off the table completely
  11. although i know if you talk about toonami on any anime community You'll get responses like "You Still watch tv? lol!" or "who the hell cares about toonami when you can stream what you want?"
  12. what damages toonami are two things 1.streaming services....everyone has gotten used to the idea of watching a show when they want and never having to set aside time to watch tv shows 2.The Time Slot...for me toonami starts at 11:00 PM and that's not a very lucrative time slot to be in you aren't really getting much attention at that time it doesn't matter what you show....11:00 PM on a saturday night just isn't something everyone can handle
  13. We'll see....but fewer and fewer people are watching cable so i can see why some companies might see it as less viable
  14. I Just like the weekly community vibe from toonami and don't like the idea of having to bounce between streaming services just to watch one or two shows not only that but toonami gives me something to look forward to every saturday night it gives me a consistent routine that i share with my mother(who also enjoys toonami) streaming makes it less of a routine and discussions online can become difficult as people tend to quickly move on from one show to the next after a few days...maybe a week at the most and afterwards they'll focus on the next trending series as for one piece and it's return to the block...I Wouldn't have any problems with it if the pacing wasn't so terrible that even a couple weeks doubled up results in it feeling like little progress has been made it's just such a slow anime to watch....weekly it's unbearable
  15. makes about as much sense as the idea of MHA airing on nickelodeon...
  16. sounds like a stupid rumor....would have been easier to believe if FX had a history of airing anime in the past no matter how hype a show was...you weren't gonna see a network that never really dabbled in Japanese Animation acquiring one to air next to a bunch of comedies
  17. not having the full opening for attack on titan sucks though...incoming butchered cut for it's premiere
  18. I'm actually surprised doubled up one piece is permanent....usually doubled up episodes are temporary and don't stick around on the block for long is this the first time Doubled up episodes of a series have become a long term plan?
  19. Demarco did say there's two or three more shows left to announce(one of those being AOT)and since they already booted the second naruto I'm just gonna assume we're only gonna get one other show aside from attack on titan and it will replace the first one piece episode of the night Guesses?...Dynazenon wouldn't surprise me as Gridman previously aired on the block and it would fit into that time slot nicely although since things are still so mysterious around the block (judging from demarco's comments on perhaps picking up weirder shows and more non-shonen content) Miss Kobayashi's dragon maid would make about as much sense as dynazenon....it's non-shonen content and it would look very weird on toonami nobody would be expecting it...
  20. Because then it would make it clear that toonami has run out of viable options and has no choice but to become "This is what your dad watched!" block and veering into the realm of "How do you do fellow young people?"
  21. well there's not been much else for anybody to discuss these past months...and even now the block is still in "Mysterious mode" attack on titan could arrive on the block 2/12...or it could arrive later in the month we don't know....and not a single word has been spoken about the dub so maybe there's some issues there
  22. So far though toei seems like the only company that has outright been confirmed to still see american cable television as a viable means to market themselves and were willing to work out a reasonable deal with toonami anyone else...it's all speculation on how they feel about cable tv since more and more companies are jumping on the streaming bandwagon
  23. what if toonami added a family guy style anime...would that help?
  24. A Classics Block on any television network just doesn't have much staying power in 2022 So i don't know why you think otherwise initially those are seen as cool but then interest quickly begins to fade.... that type of content would work better for something like retrocrush or pluto tv not something people have to actively tune into weekly how many dub exclusives have we had in recent history? because i feel like those have been dead for awhile now...with few exceptions i suppose it just bothers me because in a way it feels like toonami has no choice but to revert back into the way it was when it initially returned in 2012 while some prefer and even have fond memories of those days compared to recent years....the budget wasn't that great and the options were limited going back to those limiting times doesn't fill me with much confidence.....
