  1. as much as i enjoy one piece on toonami the fact that less happens in two episodes per week than one episode of any other show on the block frustrates me
  2. koro sensei is not well versed in that department
  3. that's the thing though....they gotta keep the pipeline steady and new anime content coming consistently otherwise it's gonna be hard to keep anime fans coming to your service instead of just hopping onto funimation I Know HBO Max probably won't be able to keep a steady stream of anime coming in the near future
  4. wouldn't be surprised to hear an announcement of exclusive anime titles headed to paramount plus at this point or for amazon to try something like strikezone again but better
  5. if you wanna talk about drugs then you can do that yourself
  6. despite the block's 25 year legacy it has no presence whatsoever on hbo max...i don't know if they've never thought about that or if they just think the toonami brand name should be exclusive to the tv block
  7. saw some mod on the toonami discord lose his shit because people kept making weird comments about this episode
  8. someone asked him when fena would be added to hbo max and his response stated that he had no idea because there were some internal negotiations being worked out preventing from being on hbo max currently
  9. probably because there wasn't as much of a need to stall for time in 2019 like there was in 2020 and 2021 plus HBO Max coming into play meant more promotional events to try and convince people to subscribe
  10. i don't even see that happening to MHA....the third movie wasn't such a success that it's price would be affected like demon slayer
  11. I'm also curious about that....more so because attack on titan was guaranteed to be on toonami due to that old contract they made where they got first dibs on the dub so nothing was gonna change that ....it's hard to build fan participation and hype if the majority of what you air can already be easily accessed on a streaming service without staying up late that's the major problem for toonami right now....too many people online see the block as something that's outdated and no longer has a purpose you show them the current lineup and they'll say "i can easily see all of that on my computer without committing to a weekly block on saturday nights"
  12. the problem though is this results in a very awkward relationship where both sides want to be the one airing it first and nobody can come to an actual agreement that doesn't fuck over the other side completely Toonami seem more interested in exclusive dub rights than getting to air it one day before it streams and that's just not something any company will agree to in this day and age but on the other hand i can see funimation feeling like giving toonami the right to air a dub one day before it streams is something that doesn't benefit them in anyway at all so toonami has to settle for being behind several weeks on any newer titles.... Yes Japanese Companies want their shows on american television but aside from Toei it doesn't seem like something that's gonna happen all that often.... honestly though i do agree there has to be a middle ground between a show being stuck behind a streaming service or toonami hoarding the rights to a dub for years because right now by the time a dub airs on toonami(excluding originals and AOT)it's old news nobody cares....and that's not something you wanna hear about toonami
  13. the packaging budget being slashed and them having to stretch it the best they can alongside big plans for toonami's anniversary makes me think that
  14. I'm honestly surprised more contracts like the attack on titan one didn't become more common....as you said it would appease more people and neither side would really lose Toonami gets first dibs but then the streaming service gets to upload it the very next day
  15. It'll Be Weird Never Having another lineup promo (i understand when things got too hectic those became unsustainable)because it did a decent job of frequently promoting the lineup through out the week during regular adultswim hours although I'll really miss seeing those "Next Time On" Promo's they used to do for more shows especially since they tend to cut out the episode preview clips that happen after the credits in every anime the exception being attack on titan if it's merely the bumpers experiencing a budget cut....then that makes me a little more optimistic as the last thing i wanted to think about was the possibility of them having to do some outlandish stuff if The 2020 Budget Cuts were still wrecking havoc on acquisitions in some way shape or form things did get chaotic near the end of last year....i can agree we don't want another situation like that although i wonder why after saying there were still 2 or 3 more shows left to announce(before attack on titan was announced)demarco then went on to treat the 2/12 schedule as if it's the permanent schedule moving forward doubling up a show has never been a permanent fixture on the block....typically it's to stall for time so to see double one piece treated as something normal did surprise me
  16. because taking advice from people on a message board that doesn't know what it is anymore...would be a good idea
  17. No I Don't have depression but thanks for making the assumption
  18. stuff like this not only makes me feel old but also reminds you that one piece has been going on for so long that it's been on the foxbox toonami and the adultswim version of toonami all while still being a currently running series
  19. Be Serious for one damn moment....i know that might be impossible for you but just....for once don't call this needless hatred for the block and everything on it budget this budget that has always been in the conversation for one reason or another....not enough money lack of money and I'm not bringing it up to even humor the idea that toonami's dead or dying I'm bringing it up because the factors that led to reduced budgets across the board aren't the same as they were in 2020 we don't have comic book publishers unable to release new titles with The Main Distributor shutdown anymore all live events aren't off the table and canceled anymore theaters aren't closed down ghost towns anymore
  20. six episodes and the crew has reunited.... if doubling up barely has any effect on story progression then that tells you how crap the pacing is
  21. having a smaller budget is something i can understand for that period but it seems like those budget cuts just aren't going away loss of ad-revenue from live sports was one of the reasons things had to be cut across the board....but those have been back for awhile now the packaging budget was noted to have been slashed recently(explaining the weirdness around bumpers lately)
  22. it's crazy to think one piece was on toonami in 2005...then again in the early years of the toonami reboot before leaving in 2017 then this year it comes back for a third time what's even crazier is the realization that if someone was watching this in 2005 when they were 10 years old...they'd be 27 right now
  23. i think what hurts that show the most is initially the name and the poster would lead you to believe Fena would be fighting alongside her allies...that she'd be a pirate princess however that wasn't the case and she was typically the damsel in distress
  24. Demarco's still promoting originals as Toonami's future moving forward so i doubt Originals are off the table completely
