season two is about to premiere this sunday(with episodes showing up the next day on hbo max) and i might have to look into it because i caught some of the first season...but don't think i ever understood the appeal just seems like another one of those random for the sake of being random adult swim shows...

my problem with one piece on toonami currently
CountFrylock replied to CountFrylock's topic in Toonami & [adult swim]
not sure why i got the (D'Oh)incompetent reaction.... nowhere in this topic am i dumping on anything or anyone I'm merely stating the cold hard truth that when one piece finally wraps up the finale of that journey isn't gonna be seen on toonami which again i think really sucks but i suppose it can't be helped due to the sheer amount of episodes and the fact it's nowhere close to the finish line -
netflix exclusive or another crunchyroll show? any guesses

my problem with one piece on toonami currently
CountFrylock posted a topic in Toonami & [adult swim]
it's less the pacing these days(although i really hate the pacing especially during the fishman island story)and more so the fact that toonami likely won't be around anymore by the time one piece does reach it's conclusion one piece and toonami have had quite the history not dragon ball z history mind you but still some history none the less so it always bothers me when i think about the day one piece ends and then think about how Far Behind toonami is from the current dubbed episodes(and how far behind those are from the subs) I Have somewhat of a Soft Spot for One Piece and just would really like to see it's conclusion celebrated on toonami however just getting to episode 1000 will be enough of a task on it's own(something the dub won't get to for years...sooo yeah) -
one piece One Piece Episodes 540-541 Discussion

not sure why but fishman island as time went on just felt very boring to me... -
I'd be pleasantly shocked and surprised if there was a second season for this but I'm not gonna hold my breath on it even if there was It'd be without toonami's involvement unless they backtrack on the statement about no more further projects with crunchyroll which i can't see why they'd do that....either you are continuing to work with them on original projects or you aren't pick a lane and stick to it

the fact we aren't gonna see another season of this annoys me..(thanks to crunchyroll and toonami no longer working together for projects after this)

I'm just saying with demarco saying Yes when someone asked if the merger is affecting toonami's ability to acquire shows i wouldn't think Demon Slayer S2 would continue to be the exception AOT Has that contract that means it absolutely must come to toonami before it streams..... i don't know why i keep being downvoted and treated like I'm just screaming "The Block's dead waaaah! the block's gonna be canceled" when it's no secret getting shows from crunchyroll has been difficult if not outright impossible in the cases of stuff such as mob Psycho 100 S2 I Don't think the block's screwed but if you take out crunchyroll then toonami has to get very creative with what they show as Sentai doesn't have anywhere near the credible catalogue that crunchyroll does
-
with funi/cr merged it doesn't make things any better....whatever replaces shenmue and aot will tell us what's toonami working with if we don't see any Crunchyroll content then it's probably a good sign that relationship is over and we can consider stuff like dr.stone season 3/my hero academia season 6 never coming to the block

i got a couple decks i like playing in master duel currently prank kids dragon maids toons

honestly even though nothing much will change with this....it still sucks because as someone who mostly watched dubs I Have more of an attachment to funimation than crunchyroll The Various Funimation logos and credit jingles I'd see when watching a funimation blu-ray or seeing a funimation distributed series on toonami I'll miss those because they were a big part of the anime industry in the united states and it feels weird for them to just become a smaller part of a larger company again even though business will continue as usual with little to no changes for them it'll be hard to get used to the funimation brand being a thing of the past
-
the lack of new content has really made this game...boring and repetitive
-
regardless....i gotta ask could a sentai filled toonami block work? I've seen Hidive before and a lot of it....not too sure if it would be to the toonami crowd's liking some of it yes...but there's also a lot of stuff that wouldn't gel well with the block or it's audience such as it's plethora of romance titles

Okay let me just say this.....you come in here claiming that I'm crying and overreacting over nothing but Demarco clearly stated that yes the merger has affected the ability for them to acquire shows and if getting anything from funimation(now part of crunchyroll)has become that much more difficult they'll need to rely upon sentai titles and viz content a lot more moving forward I'm just sharing the message....I'd be positive all the time if there was happy toonami news all the time but that's not really been the case(at least for me anyways) I Like AC S2 and Shenmue has turned out to be the best of the originals so far but Doubled Up One Piece has only reminded me how much i hate that shows pacing(...really don't want MIA Replaced by a third episode)
