  1. Crunchyroll absorbed funimation because crunchyroll is more popular globally than funimation funny when you remember that crunchyroll was initially a piracy site and now they are the kings of anime streaming
  2. two episodes of one piece is still a snails pace and less happens in two episodes of One Piece than one episode of most things on the block right now
  3. all the content got moved to a generic international animation section i don't think Sony has any interest in putting that content on hbomax
  4. need to add some new cards,,
  5. I Don't necessarily think that will be the case....however i don't think it'll be business as usual either if crunchyroll under WM's ownership wasn't willing to work with toonami most of the time...that brings up the question is crunchyroll now easier or harder to work with...now that sony's calling the shots?
  6. what part of this sounds like a negative whiny topic? it's a genuine question anyone here could ask since crunchyroll has notoriously been difficult to work with even while WM owned them so now that everything funimation related will now be rebranded as crunchyroll content it's natural to be curious as to how this affects the toonami status quo lastly constantly accusing me of being mentally ill as a punchline isn't funny....nowhere did i imply i think toonami's gonna be canceled soon so quit putting words in my mouth and acting like i started this topic to scream about how toonami's doomed
  7. so does that mean crunchyroll titles that were previously off limits are now on the table such as Mob Psycho 100 S2?....
  8. crunchyroll titles(outside originals)haven't exactly been easy to acquire for toonami and now that all funimation titles will be under the crunchyroll brand name does that mean they'll also be as difficult to acquire as say Mob Psycho 100 Season 2 or will it just be business as usual moving forward...with the best outcome being that crunchyroll titles will be easier to acquire than they were previously?
  9. gonna be weird seeing the crunchyroll logo pop up for stuff like MHA on toonami
  10. I'm surprised there isn't a toonami hub on hbomax although someone theorized that perhaps they want to keep the toonami brand name exclusive to Cable Television....
  11. I can't help but think toonami must have gotten an amazing deal on one piece to keep it doubled up for this long... Toei can't really think "The American TV Viewing Audience will love this more than they did last time!"
  12. yeah they have far less patience because these kind of shows like one piece aren't as common as they once were and so it's pacing is far more annoying this isn't a show you can watch weekly it's something you have to binge-watch at this point...no way around that
  13. i think toonami gave themselves quite the problem here with one piece 1.confused viewers who have to go to funimation now to catch up(of course when they do that...they'll be tempted to just skip past where toonami is) 2.even at two episodes per week the pacing here is terrible...previously the pacing was turning off people from tuning into one piece and now that it's doubled that turns off those very same people for an hour
  14. nobody knows...the crunchyroll name was removed from hbomax after they were sold to sony and all the anime was moved to a generic international animation section
  15. Honestly i wonder what the plans are for anime on hbomax moving forward...Hbomax has not been doing a good job themselves of promoting that the fifth plate dub is coming
  16. at the same time though....we haven't heard anything about a dc movie night on 3/5 and that will be next week's toonami plus since the same day as theaters deal on hbomax is no longer a thing....I'm not too sure if using toonami to promote them would make much sense it's easy enough to get the adultswim audience to watch a movie on hbomax(something they might already have access to)than it is to get them to pay for a ticket and sit down for several hours
  17. volume 2 of chainsaw man was added alongside volume 1 of the soul eater perfect edition and volume 1 of fullmetal alchemist the fullmetal edition
  18. The Midnight Timeslot helps out a lot....i think we're at a point where the lead show just isn't gonna be beat by what comes afterwards in terms of nielsen ratings
  19. updated manga shelf this month
  20. they really do but for some reason Oda just likes sticking to the same repetitive character jokes... it's amazing that Sanji being a horny man who can't control himself around women and refuses to fight women to the point of being a liability on the crew stuck around this long
  21. it really does seem like the hype for AOT On toonami just isn't there anymore....which makes the "Toonami gets to air the dub one day before funimation streams it" bit pointless
