My original Minecraft world is from beta 1.8, well before villagers, so the village that generated near my house was completely empty. Some time after they were added I got it into my head to populate that village, so I found some villagers in a new chunk and built an absurdly-long elevated railway to move them over. They wound up only hanging out in one or two houses (something something goofy village boundary requirements), but it was immensely satisfying.
