Why would you air the last run of episodes after airing the finale? The intention is obviously to build up hype for the finale by letting everyone rewatch the big fights leading up to it.

As much as I love the series, there's no universe in which it's high-profile enough to make a redub worthwhile.

The dub wasn't nearly as bad as it's often made out to be, at least once you get to Banner. Crest is admittedly pretty rough. Either way it was a low-profile license-rescue bundled with far more popular Bandai titles. No one's going to bother spending the money on a new dub. And what does FUNi having the license have to do with Japan deciding to create new content?

They released it on DVD almost a year ago.

If that was their plan, they had no way of knowing this would happen, and it happening still doesn't guarantee that further episodes aren't made if someone's willing to pay for them. Tell me, do the histrionics ever get old?

Crest/Banner of the Stars was a fucking amazing series.

It would not surprise me at all to see [as] provide funding to get a season 2 made as a Toonami exclusive if they feel that there's profit in doing so. That may have been the original plan regardless, though the main creative force behind the series essentially leaving RT would obviously make that very difficult.

...how did they "goof"? They paid for a season, and they aired that season. There was never any promise made of airing more. Regardless this sucks. I've been enjoying the series.

I've heard a lot of the production on this season was pretty meh, but I don't even care I just want to stan Saitama some more.

The Pain arc did give Hinata a decent heroic moment where she said outright that she cared about Naruto and he realized "oh hey she's a person who exists." I don't really mind them getting together in the end, since Hinata always had a crush on Naruto, but at least earlier on in Shippuden Naruto and Sakura definitely had a decent amount of interpersonal development. Sakura actually winding up with Sasuke at the end is far more offensive: after all the shit he directly did to her, it just reeks of abused girlfriend syndrome.

I enjoy that Taiju ONLY HAS AN OUTDOOR VOICE.

It shouldn't be cheaper if it's stuff licensed by most American companies, but if it's Aniplex of America stuff it's cheaper because AoA are a bunch of dicks.

Bleach remains the only show that aired on the block in almost 15 years that I haven't completely finished. I made it to just before the timeskip and then fell behind, and then I guess I had to delete the rest of it from my DVR to free up space, and I just never got around to finishing it. It's hard getting motivated to watch a lame-duck arc when you know the series is going to end with a whimper in a handful of episodes. I will finally get to it someday, but I'll have to be really bored. And I've easily written thousands of words at this point about how the series crapped out, but I definitely agree with the relationships bit. It's pretty much the same issue Naruto had: Shippuden (or at least the anime) spent all this time showing Naruto and Sakura getting closer, and then nope he winds up with a girl he spent essentially no screen-time with. I think Oda absolutely made the right call in keeping romance largely absent from One Piece, because it almost never ends well in long shounen.
