  1. Geez, it's not like you proposed in front of her & your friends & family, and she screamed "NO!"
  2. Ben Bishop is an LA King BAM - trading is underway!
  3. "I was born about 10,000 years ago There ain't nothin' in this world that I don't know I saw Peter, Paul & Moses playing ring aroun' the roses and I'll whup the guy what says it isn't so..."
  4. I beg to differ.
  5. Have to pick up my cat Nicodemus from the vet and take him to the Animal Hospital so he can be watched over the weekend. He has a catheter & IV. Have to pick up special dietary food for him too.

Reminds me of "The Phone Company" in "The President's Analyst". 'cept there, the wires all plugged into the shoe heels.
  7. In Chicago, an open manhole is probably safer - http://www.chicagoreader.com/chicago/this-sidewalk-could-kill-your-dog/Content?oid=922314
  8. Trade you. I'm wondering if I'll have a job at EOD tomorrow. There are rumors of a bloodbath with our floor to be hit really hard, conference rooms are booked solid...
  9. Follow up - Eric gets his mask... http://www.secondcityhockey.com/2017/2/19/14661736/the-blackhawks-treated-emergency-backup-goalie-eric-semborski-to-a-new-mask

    I've got

"90,000 £ in my pajamas, I've got 30,000 French Francs in my fridge...."
  11. Maybe his pocket change was getting low. Or maybe he's taking the Michael Caine attitude. Caine was in a number of Box Office flops in the 80's (ever see "The Island"?), when asked about it he said something like, "I'm an actor, my job is to act. Doesn't matter whether the script is good." I think there may have been something about every part giving him a chance to "hone his craft" too.
  12. I've always used 7-zip.
  13. In the words of the Master, Groucho Marx - "I could never belong to a club that would have me as a member."
  14. What Sun? In the winter, I'm at work about 2 hrs before sunrise. Depending on how busy it is at work (which is a lot lately) I'm usually surprised by how quickly 11 am (lunch) or 3:09 pm (when I usually start shutting stuff down) rolls around. Sleep pattern's are another story - been waking up hourly for no apparent reason. I just read an article from the BBC (from 2012) that said as a culture, the thought of sleeping straight through the night is a relatively recent development. http://www.bbc.com/news/magazine-16964783
  15. Instead of the Gov't determining how much gets divvied out to each dept, each taxpayer commits at the beginning of the year how to split their tax contribution. For example, let's say I make $40K/year and pay 37% income tax (just spitballing) or 15,600. I think Education, Environment, Social Services & Defense should get the majority of my taxes - so I commit 20% to each with 20% to be split among everything else (20% = $3,120). The next person may think that Defense deserves 40%, 20% to education and split the other 40% over whatever else there is. The next person is big on Education and commits 50% to that & splits the rest. You have to commit your percentage contributions at the beginning of the tax year and if you get a raise, your percents are still locked but applied to your new earnings. You aren't allowed to "stiff" any currently existing dept. Whatever is most important to you gets the benefit & those you deem less important get less. People on the Left would commit more to those areas they think important, people on ther Right would do the same. I kinda think things would work out because of this, but maybe I'm missing a consideration? Thoughts?
  16. I woke up in a Soho doorway, a policeman knew my name...
  17. "old white guy doesn't get why hate crime status exists" Hunh? I know precisely why it exists. My comment, "Anyway this happened - not unexpected.", was in reference to the plea of "Not Guilty", almost obligatory - I don't know why they even bother, it's rare that someone takes responsibility for their actions (unless they're opting for an insanity plea). It had nothing to do with the hate crime aspect.
  18. Reminds me of the "Dead Bishop" Monty Python skit (record version, not the tv version). The murderer says, "But Society is to blame!" and the Church Police says, "Right, we'll arrest them instead!".
  19. I thought there was a previous thread, but my searches couldn't find it. Anyway this happened - not unexpected. But what the "Community Supporter" said in the audio clip...really? http://chicago.cbslocal.com/2017/02/10/facebook-live-torture-hate-crime-not-guilty-plea/
  20. As often as they brought up "Pig and Elephant DNA just won't splice", I kept thinking it was a parody of some song or singer. I tried googling it back then, but never found anything.
  21. Yeah, 'bout that - get back to me when something actually happens to you and not just some panic attack about what you think will happen.
  22. So I got done about an hour ago and took a peek at the score - nice. Back to South Park.

    Boxes...

    Those are crates, not boxes.
  24. Keeps shifting lately. It was 11pm to 4am for a long time, but I've been waking up almost hourly and going back to sleep. Recently, I've been lucky to make it to 10pm on workdays, and waking up between 3am & 4am.
