Decades ago, I think James Burke had a segment in one of his shows ("After the Warming", I think) where they interviewed some scientist on a certain plant pollen that was found when digging in the Arctic. The plant had long since gone extinct, but the question was - could there be any malevolent bacteria that was trapped in the Arctic that could wipe us off the face of the earth, should there be an Arctic meltdown? Maybe the answer was yes.

Had that - first eye doc to give me contacts gave me 2 different brands/types, 1 for each eye. Ended up going to the ER because it felt like I had a rock under my eyelid after I took them out to the point I couldn't sleep. I had to wear an eye patch for a couple weeks & the ophthalmologist was cursing under his breath about the doctor, but wouldn't tell me I was miss-prescribed. The doc that gave me the contacts blamed me for saying they felt ok. I only had them in a couple of minutes in his office & he sent me off with them, it wasn't like I was there for an hour & could say one felt bad.

Trying to dig one out that's rolled up under the lid is nothing compared to accidentally grabbing & pulling the sclera.
