Back in the late 70s - early 80s, there was a guy in Chicago that hand drew US paper currency. He'd go into stores & restaurants & ask if they'd be willing to trade food or goods for his "art". I guess it was ok, since he wasn't trying to pass it off as US currency. I guess his bills were pretty well done.

It was the draw to get you to come back to the theater, and really just a carryover from the days of radio serials. WGN (Chicago) ran Flash Gordon, Buck Rodgers, Charlie Chan (Keye Luke as #1 son) movies & Sherlock Holmes (Basil Rathbone - or do you say Razzle Bathbone?) movies on Sunday mornings leading into Cubs or WSox baseball. I thought it was cool that Spielberg said his Indiana Jones movies were partly inspired by those movie serials.

The two thoughts I had when I watched this way back when - 1. Did Bischoff use Wax or Liquid shoe polish to color that hair? 2. Why, oh why didn't they just cut him some "skunk lines" & leave it at that?

Way after my time. My signal was when my female cousins would demand I change the channel to "My Friend Flicka". (Horses...Meh)
