Probably more that it's "new and different" to the area. Kinda like how everyone here got really excited when Coors started distributing east of the Mississippi...until the novelty burnt off & they realized it was just watery beer.

Woodstock shouldn't have seen much. They expected <1 in. up there, though I had a former coworker say that Rockford got 3 in.

Yep. The movie was filmed in Woodstock, IL. (unfortunately, years after I left or I could have been an extra). The town decided to keep the tradition. I think they even got Brian Doyle Murray to guest for it one year.
