  1. Nothing changes, every generation will eventually rip a following generation because "their music is just noise!". Some of us understand this and just let it be, others have to complain because they're afraid the world is leaving them behind and making them feel like an anachronism.
  2. I doubt it's possible to run from what you're encountering, as you'll probably run into the same or worse anywhere you go. If you truly think going elsewhere is what is best for you, take political leanings into consideration (along with weather, etc.). Alaska was suggested, but is also a Red state. Madison, WI is supposed to be an easy-going college town (I've got left-leaning cousins that live outside the city proper). You might look through local newspapers online for the places you consider, just to see what is going down currently. I'm pretty sure no particular place is going to be idyllic.
  3. I'd still change the locks. I don't know the guy obviously, but you don't need him giving the key and address to someone else out of spite.
  4. It isn't that women couldn't "take care of themselves". I got chewed out for stepping in front of a coworker to get on an elevator first. I and another guy had to explain that we (guys) are supposed to be first on/last off, in case of a malfunction. Guys are supposed to hold doors & chairs - probably because dresses would either get in the way in the Victorian era...hard to manage one of those things with a bustle and hold a door or move a chair I would think. Guys are supposed to walk to the outside on a sidewalk, so we get splashed...but in urban areas, guys were also supposed to be to the inside so that any trash thrown out a window didn't fall on the lady. Guys should lead going downstairs and follow going upstairs, in case the lady loses her footing (probably because of heels, I'd guess). We guys are considered expendable...and I've got no problem with that.
  5. Like most things on [asmb] (Yellow7, Inuyasha cancellation meltdowns, etc), I heard about it after the fact.
