  1. Yup. Fine. F ucked up I nsecure N eurotic E gotistical
  2. Just back away from the keyboard. Go do whatever you're actually supposed to be doing, or get a drink of water, or go for a walk. You are winding yourself up, and the kindest thing that you can do for yourself right now is to disengage.
  3. Actually, that would speak more to PTSD. Personality disorders begin forming in very early childhood.
  4. But you have talked about abuse. And cutting isn't the only form of self-harm out there. Besides, bpd isn't the only cluster b diagnosis.
  5. Yeah. I've read that bipolar and cluster b often go hand in hand.
  6. Beyond saying "Look at meeeeee!" what's the point? People with other health conditions don't usually make general announcements regarding them. It's usually on a need to know basis I told my supervisors and the providers and other nurses I worked with that I was bipolar because (and I was pretty blunt about it) I can't always tell when I'm starting to cycle, and I wanted them to be able to say "Hey, you're getting really wound up. Do something about it." It was a safety issue; I was responsible for people's health, and the people I discussed it with were professionals with some appreciation of mental illness. I've never told anybody at the library. Why would I? If I get a little hypomanic and scattered, there's not a whole lot of damage I can do there. Unless I need to take a mental health related leave, there's really no reason they need to know.
  7. Ah. That sounds a bit more promising.
  8. Good luck, but why should they? It would seem that they'd need more proof than just a sad letter from you - if that worked, everybody would write one. It's not that your claim is bogus, it's that you had pretty much entered a contract, and contracts usually have pretty specific terms for release. (They're also often time related.) If I were somebody in the finance office, I'd want something else, like a doctor's letter corroborating your statement. But that's just me - maybe they'll be willing to negotiate .
  9. No prob. If she gives you a hard time, make her read a book about Louis Pasteur or Josef Lister or Ignaz Semmelweis. She may not believe them either, but at least she can't read and ask questions at the same time.
  10. Tell her that she's thinking of mold. Bacteria and viruses live everywhere, even in the extreme conditions of space; in fact, there are those that thrive and become more virulent in what we would consider unlivable conditions. Also, in inhospitable conditions, bacteria can become dormant until conditions improve (they're then referred to as spores). A bacterial spore on cold metal can wake up to happiness when one's face gets rubbed on it.
  11. There's no such thing as a free lunch.
  12. Hm. I wonder if Masterpiece Theatre is on. Nothing on ITV since they yanked Jeremy Kyle.
  13. Hugs, and brace yourself.
  14. There is a very strong resemblance.
  15. Why did you change the title?
  16. So to speak.
  17. Feral cats have better taste.
  18. I would imagine that it would depend on exactly how you mean that.
  19. On the up side, the bird shit is all on his side of the building. One can only hope that they start roosting on his windowsill in anticipation.
  20. Fish gotta swim, birds gotta fly, and sometimes the lion's gotta roar.
  21. Are you sure you want to? That malt liquor smell is never coming out of the upholstery, especially if he pukes.
  22. He can only go if there's a bus stop nearby.
  23. Almost no one words properly any more. Noah Webster is rotating in his grave.
  24. Not necessarily. I have a 30 year old gold crown on one of my molars, and I haven't had any problems with that tooth since the day it was put on.
