First it was peanuts, then it was tree nuts, and now it's applesauce. It'd be worth a full-blown rant if non-political topics mattered any more.

Military hottie is asking for a good dose of Talk No Jutsu.

Rice and beans are a lot cheaper than bologna. Usually healthier, too, depending on how they're cooked.

What's wrong? -
"Well, I'm not sure what your exact question is, but I'd be happy to help if you'd share it with me." Said in cheeriest possible customer service voice while doodling pictures of bombs, knives, and poison bottles on scratch pad.

My younger daughter is the same way. Cooked yes, raw no way in hell. And thanks.

Have you ever tried chives instead? (It may seem a strange question, but I know people who dislike onions but like chives.)

Sometimes, I feel like the problem is that I may not be one - maybe if I was, I could blend in and just coast.

I don't know...I was never very keen on Bugles, either. It's a consistency thing more than a taste thing. They just feel wrong in my mouth. Like pork rinds. They smell good, they taste good but they feel wrong.
-
And it's a real treat to see you, too.

I like them. There's just something about the consistency of funyuns that weirds me out.

My mom used to make it - I think it's German. You fry up bacon, chop it into bits, and save the grease. Meanwhile, you boil potatoes, cut them up while still warm, add the bacon, chopped scallions, and some chopped endive (not the Belgian kind, the other kind). Pour the bacon grease and some cider vinegar over it, toss (the grease and vinegar become a kind of bastard vinaigrette), and serve while still warm. We used to put sour cream on it as a garnish/because Slavic. ( My dad's side is Polish; sour cream was pretty much a food group at my grandma's.)

I have. That's why "ew."

As someone of distant Mongolian heritage, I resent that.😝

I doubt that your client was, either. The Karen are a Burmese ethnic minority who have been persecuted under multiple regimes. Please find another slur; the Karen have suffered enough.

Funyuns? Ew!

Making a video?

Is this a stand-alone story, or is one supposed to have prior knowledge of the characters? I felt kind of like I'd arrived at a party five minutes after the only person I knew had left; there were hints of motivation that dangled just out of reach that would have made both the conflict more palpable and the resolution more satisfying. It actually was more like reading a teaser than an actual story; it's not bad, I just wish that, if it's stand-alone, there was a bit more of the background, like why Deja is so touchy about being smart. I guess to a reader familiar with the universe, it would be a far more satisfying read.

But I take showers.

I am exhausted. And I'm tired of it.

I'm just surprised, especially since there's no mayo in the German-style.

What - no hot potato salad? That stuff is the best.

There's a bus stop there? My, what an entrance you'll make.
