  1. I don't see a link to a statute. Am I blind? Also, technically, what we're looking at is not pedophilia, it's ephebophilia, given that he talks about late adolescents, not prepubescent children. Please note - this is not an endorsement of or support for Zeni's creeping. I just like things to be accurate.
  2. I'm just trying to point out the persistence of Zeni. (Picture in your mind that Dali painting with the clocks, and replace the clocks with Zeni. He's soft enough to ooze.)
  3. Not to be a wet blanket, but this is not the first time that Viper has threatened this., and Zeni is still with us (for whatever that's worth beyond a tube of Preparation H.)
  4. Crispix, puffed rice, cheerios, Kix - pretty much anything that isn't Cap'n Crunch or Cocoa Crispies
  5. I'm bumming because blueberry season is over - cereal has gone down the tubes.
  6. According to my shrink, yes, you create new behavior pathways, but that doesn't stop the underlying chemical imbalance, so in 30 years, if you and phillies and I are still alive, we can still bitch about our meds. Yes, we will be on them for life. However, if you're on a cocktail that's working for you, chances are it will keep working - I've been on basically the same one for about 15 years, and for the most part, it's worked well. And, as you age, (I don't mean like next year, and I don't mean when you're my age, but when you actually become a senior citizen) the good news is that mania tends to decrease. (Of course, there can be no good news without bad news, which is that depression remains, and can be more prevalent). In any case, yeah, we're stuck. It's kind of like having diabetes of the brain - one may be very well controlled, but only if one takes the meds and does all the other junk as prescribed. without a new pancreas or a new brain, there is no cure.
  7. I'm redoing my banned books list at the library (last week of September, people!) and I'm finding so much stuff - just finished Tobacco Road and God's Little Acre0 (both by Erskine Caldwell). Right now, I've got Claude Brown's Manchild in the Promised Land in the living room, Huckleberry Finn (annual re-read) in the kitchen, and Sir Richard Francis Burton's translation of the Arabian Nights in the bedroom (tbh, no way am I getting through it - it's good, but it's also 6 volumes.)
  8. Why do you let people tell you what you can eat when?
  9. Just don't pull an Elvis.
  10. Being home during a blizzard when I don't have anywhere that I have to go.

Did you know that nicotine is odorless and tasteless, dissolves easily in water, and is more addictive than heroin? Food for thought, so to speak.
  12. Derek Jacobi. I've had a thing for him ever since I saw I, Claudius in high school.
  13. Dude, he's right. You've got 5 years, maybe 10, before you have a heart attack from fast food and beer. (Of course, I could be wrong - it could be sooner.) Then again, maybe it's your liver begging for mercy.
  14. STAY OUT OF MY REFRIGERATOR!!!
  15. If I had the money, I'd hand out The Art of War and The Book of Five Rings. Not to make people warriors, but because they're both about the importance of focusing on everything you do and yet being aware of what's around you. I think that all new parents need a copy of these.
  16. Don't encourage him. My grandkids are generation Z
  17. Damned spellcheck.
  18. He can't help it; one syllable words, the fewer letters the better, are easiest to type. Quite frankly, I'm surprised he can spell it right.
  19. He doesn't eat human flesh, he makes skin suits .
  20. Was the second one that you were running to the internet to share it with us?
  21. I can see where that would be possible - my prescription is for 0.5 mg every 6 hours as needed. If one were to ignore or misinterpret the "as needed" part, one could wind up dependent (which unfortunately happens). But every once in a while, they're not a problem. I've been on them for about 10 years, and have yet to go through withdrawal (of course, the bottle from last November is still 1/2 full and sitting in the cupboard...)
