  1. Absolutely horrifying.
  2. Used the same music from '95 GITS too. Still not 100% convinced on some of the visuals though.
  3. Proof that we live in the darkest timeline.
  4. I did better fan art when I was 10.
  5. There is no God.
  6. I'm more of a fan of the '95 movie and manga. They feel more otherworldly and involving to me while SAC just feels like a cop procedural set in the future. I do genuinely enjoy 2nd Gig as it feels a bit more exotic than season one and closer to what I feel Ghost In The Shell should be (also helps the animation isn't as cold and stiff).

  8. What I thought...the show was made in an earlier "false" HD (540p) which is why the picture looks blurrier than most of the other shows on the block (for reference, all the Bones shows between Eureka 7 and FMA: Brotherhood were produced in the same resolution). Oddly, the opening CGI is only 480p while the images in the end credits are full 1080p. Now, I discovered something very upsetting that may be of controversy; but I don't think I like Stand Alone Complex anymore. Like at all. It was a bummer to come to terms with that after being so terminally bored with that episode to the point where I was begging for it to end.
  9. Or know someone that works in real estate? If so, anyone have any fucked up stories involving open houses and whatnot? I'm trying to compile as much together to get to work on this TV pilot.
  10. Obviously not in DVD format. But the show was originally produced in HD. The Blu-Ray comes out in two weeks, so I'm assuming Production I.G. gave Adult Swim the HD masters as a form of cross-promotion.
  11. I've never seen SAC in HD (was it ever publicly available in that format? I know it was one of the first TV anime produced in HD) so I'll check it out to see if this version still suffers from post-2000 "Digital Learning Curve" syndrome.
  12. Not gonna rate it because musicals aren't my thing, but I saw La La Land yesterday and I understand the hype. Also saw Lion. Liked it for the first 30 to 45 minutes, then it became tedious (spending half the movie on Google Earth crying isn't the most compelling thing in the world).
  13. Man that song gives me so many memories of performing drive-by shootings in San Andreas.
  14. An excerpt from the Sociopath's Bible: - Dennis 6:03
  15. In honor of our fallen comrade John Wetton, this an appreciation thread for the short-lived prog outfit U.K. Most people know John Wetton as the voice from Asia, others know him from what is arguably the best King Crimson era, but not many know of U.K. The supergroup only lasted for two albums, both with totally different lineups. Their self-titled debut is considered highly influential among prog (and even metal musicians in terms of Allan Holdsworth's chord progressions and playing style on the LP) contained John Wetton on bass and vox, Bill Bruford on drums, Allan Holdsworth on guitar, and Eddie Jobson on keys and electric violin. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gR22W3z7hcI Their next album however would end up being their final. Danger Money, released a year later, contains an overhauled lineup that was downsized to a trio: John Wetton and Eddie Jobson remained in their posts but had to amp up their game to make up for a lack of Holdsworth, and Terry Bozzio replaced Bruford on the drum kit. While not as inventive or fresh as the debut, it's still an excellent album that even beats the debut in some places in terms of the songwriting and performances. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nOLIcYbttdY The group called it quits soon after. An underrated and overlooked gem in the history of Rock N' Roll.
  16. ^ It's really a case of more people cutting the cord than anything. In fact, out of the 3 friends I have who already moved out, two never even bothered to buy a TV.
  17. Suicide would be a decent option.

  20. Dope fucking album (too bad it's their final). Definitely counts as a ballad.
  21. That's as gay as saying you fap to a picture of David Duchovny in drag. So yes, it's gay. It's gay as fuck.
  22. Their best album (Afterman's really close though). Might go see them if my station has any free tickets available. Hope they don't play any songs off their most recent album (they kind of fell away from their more signature hard rock / prog rock sound into a more emo & pop-punk kind of thing...which I really did NOT dig).
  23. Thank you for your service. R.I.P
