So I was wandering Adult Swim's On Demand selections and I find they have The Animatrix there. Yep. [AS] still has rights to that for some reason. Go ahead and watch the 2nd best Matrix movie for free.

As soon as the first Blu-Ray comes out, I'mma do a Kai edit splicing together footage from the show and the two movies. Featuring a background score by Scott Morgan and The Enigma TNG.

Willem Dafoe as Ryuk is like Hugh Laurie as Gendo Ikari. It's one of those castings that are so unbelievably perfect you want the project to succeed. Alas, that may not be true.

I do think Warner kinda fucked the pooch with JoJo's dub. You could tell they don't give a shit. Though it does add to the cheese factor (which I'm about). However, VIZ's handling of Stardust Crusaders will be a welcome change.

Is it just me, or do all re-released anime have a habit of sucking the reverb out of their opening songs? Probably not an anime only thing: The older versions of Empire Strike Back have both Vader and Luke sounding like they're in an echo chamber during "that" scene, while all the releases 2004-onward have their voices bone dry with zero reverb.

Oh man, how the fuck is Conan still on the air with those numbers? Between that and 700k being good enough for Mr. Robot to get another season, I think it's safe to assume Toonami ain't going anywhere for a while.

There are instances where the original company threw out the film prints years ago and are stuck with a SD master (like Sailor Moon), or the original film IS available but hasn't been remastered in Japan yet and the American licensor sacrifices quality for profit (Dragon Ball Z). In the case of Sunrise shows, they always end up looking fucking gorgeous:
