  1. Oda seems to confirm we will be getting the trailer this Saturday at Tudum.
  2. It’s Twitter link time! There’s a lot of material…in the comedy side. Action seems limited to DC but were you expecting different?
  3. We’ve had successful examples fairly recently, namely Invincible not to mention the Spider-Verse sequel making tons of money worldwide, but so much of the male family audience has been completely ceded to the Japanese by writers that only want to write about “MY FEEWINGS” or relationships for the LBGTQ+ community shippers, that it’s almost impossible for the male audience to not associate anime with stuff for them and other stuff for girls. If 10 year old boys are wearing Jujutsu Kaisen shirts, something has gone wrong, in a big way. Genndy is like…the one guy still making action animation in his own style.
  4. Some can be anime, but you need to have something deeper than a surface level understanding of the material. It’s why Castlevania’s fight scenes work (even if the writer of the first series is a sex pest shitheel). This is why I like that despite having flourishes from anime, Invincible takes most of its cues from the 90s X-Men cartoon.
  5. https://variety.com/2023/film/global/adam-devine-idris-elba-genndy-tartakovsky-1235642934/ Well, no one can accuse him of being one dimensional.
  6. Genuinely would want to go to that “Latin America and anime” panel. Ah well.
  7. At this point I just want it to come out even if it’s two episodes and is little more than a motion comic. Considering that Toonami ain’t got no damn money, I don’t see them making some insane project for the hell of it. Where’s Toonami’s weird take on Captain N?
  8. Slow cooker ribs, leftover fries, and a salad.
  9. Wasn’t sure where to put this one. It’s advertised as anime but the studio is European and using European characters and IP. Also, frog assassin.
  10. They’re also doing a big celebration of making all the money in Times Square.
  11. 70 minute finale. This show once again seems to be making bank.
  12. A lot of the aesthetic choices in Beastars make more sense when you find out the author is the daughter of Baki’s author.
  13. It lives! Well, that’s a good sign. And with a public release, it probably won’t be a write off…at first.
  14. That is not the worst show Adult Swim made by virtue of this -
  15. Went to visit my family, so steak, roasted potatoes, that mozzarella and tomato with the vinaigrette, and some wine.
  16. Actually it was the other way around.
  17. None of you mentioned Minoriteam? Tom was divisive at best, the live action shows weren’t good, but Minoriteam is one of the only shows (along with the much more controversial Million Dollar Extreme) that Adult Swim flat out erased from their history. The only home release was a 2012 DVD collection in Region 4 (Australia, New Zealand, the Pacific Islands, Central America, Mexico, South America, and the Caribbean) as part of the “Adult Swim Grab Bag” and it has otherwise been wiped from the face of the internet. Tom, Assy, NTSF, none of these shows were so embarrassing they were erased in an attempt to protect the guilty party that created them.
  18. Here’s the trailer - Available digitally July 21st and on Blu-Ray July 25th.
