We have a trailer. And a very…talkative Ultra. -
The strike is officially over.

2024 Presidential Elections: the schadenfreude commences
Jman replied to NewBluntsworth's topic in Current Events
If there’s a lesson here, it’s that despite all the grumbling about Biden, Trump still scares the shit out of most Americans to the point R candidates only win in heavily gerrymandered areas, and R policies remain wildly unpopular. A more sane Conservative Party would have been able to make gains, but that was sacrificed at the altar of MAGA propaganda years ago. -

Never underestimate pissed off women and people who want to get stoned so they’re less pissed off. -
Finished Pluto. Really a shame it didn't make more of an impact publicly.

2024 Presidential Elections: the schadenfreude commences

I won't lie, the numbers are concerning, but something I did find interesting is that pretty much enough swing voters to swing the pendulum the other way flat out said a Trump conviction would make them vote for Biden, because at that point it's a matter of not voting for a convict. -
The Crunchyroll finale apparently crashed their servers. Then CR did the incredibly and surprisingly based move of recommending Gunbuster while they were working on it.

What will replace Naruto: Shippuden in 2024?
Jman replied to 3ngag3's topic in Toonami & [adult swim]
If they can get it, Boruto seems likely, if only because DeMarco's earlier concern about kids shows went out the window the second they aired Unicorn and My Adventures with Superman. If not, well, it boils down once again to what Crunchyroll will let them have. -
Finished Onimusha. Definitely a Takashi Miike joint. Better than Nocturne.

Leftover lamb, bread and salad.

Onimusha 2-4.

Thigh, breast, drumstick, and wing in last. There’s a reason you need 8-12 wings for a meal.
-
Onimusha 1. This is definitely a Takashi Miike joint.

Demon Slayer returns to Toonami November 11th with the Mugen Train arc
Jman replied to Jman's topic in Toonami & [adult swim]
For their sake, I hope the rumors the Infinity Castle arc is a movie trilogy aren’t true. -
Unless they take a formal vote to override him or the like, this will keep happening. He’s a zealot for Trump. Zealots don’t negotiate.

Knights of the Zodiac - 3/10. Decent fight scenes cannot make up for the fact that this is a weakly acted, badly written adaptation of Saint Seiya that would be way better if they just adapted the manga more faithfully. Apparently Macenryu wasn’t happy with the role, but thankfully he had Zoro as his breakout Western role.

City infamously known as "Pizza Desert" finally sees relief
Jman replied to Raptorpat's topic in Current Events
Sounds like when my family went to Texas and we had Whataburger. Those things were huge. My brother loved them to the point he emailed them about getting places in the Northeast, and he got a very friendly response stating they appreciated the kind words but had no plans to expand up north. -

Even if you never used the salad bar, to me it’s still a symbol of a lot of those casual sit down restaurants. Something a bit more elaborate than a place with a few tables and chairs you sit yourself at once you order slices. Granted, all the really nice pizza places double as Italian restaurants around here, complete with seating in the back, but that’s more a Long Island thing than a straight New York City thing. -
Out of control budgets, a lead villain under indictment for assault, and diminishing returns from both the audience and the critics. It all adds up to a collapsing empire.
