  1. He laid out his multimedia plans pretty succinctly yesterday. Scrap a lot of the kids programming, a lot of animation that doesn't make cash, a lot of movies with lesser known characters, and go back to promoting big franchises. He considers Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman the big three of DC, which is why a lot of spin-offs and replacement projects have been dumped.
  2. Spy X Family 3-4. Komi Can’t Communicate 2. (What? I watch it on my tablet while I cook).
  3. Does it ever?
  4. Why make some money when you can make all of it? Granted, sellers of erotica must go elsewhere as Right Stuff will no longer sell it. (They’re opening a sister site called EroAnimeZone).
  5. Right before the Crunchyroll Expo to boot.
  6. It’s official.
  7. Anime Strike failed because you had to pay extra. They’re slowly dipping their toes back into animation with Invincible and those Boys anthologies, but I imagine any purchase of Crunchyroll would either involve running it as is, or merging it with the Amazon library for no extra cost after the Strike debacle. It’s a moot point as is, Sony has all the anime, and as a result, fingers in the pies of a LOT of IP’s.
  8. If they hadn’t sold it then they would have sold it at a later date, maybe to Amazon. As it stands they got quite the nice windfall for it.
  9. In other words, he’s a fucking moron. I’m sure DeMarco absolutely adores the guy, but Toonami’s now even more boned because any hope of relief from HBO Max originals is gone and I don’t see Mr. “Movie Theaters are a Sacred Institution” wanting to invest any pennies in Japanese cartoons from scratch when that’s the only reliable source they have left. Hell, knowing this penny pincher, he might not be above breaking out reruns from the vault to save money. Who’s up for Afternoon Adventures 2.0?
  10. You just reminded me of that. That's going to make me cry. I'm sorry, but you found a guy that nailed a role Bruce Lee made FOR HIMSELF, and not only can you not get him a decent Hollywood film, you're going to cancel the thing that made me care about him in the first place.
  11. AEW is low cost, live programming in the vein of sports. It's one of the potential big winners in this shitshow. You want AEW/ROH on Discovery+? Odds are you will get it because of how cheap it is.
  12. He's trying to rewind the clock to the days where HBO existed as a repository for films and nothing more. At this point he might as well bring back HBO Boxing...actually, I wouldn't mind that too much, but he's far more likely to let DAZN handle that.
  13. So any hope of HBO Max helping out is now gone - The rumor is HBO Max will be dissolved and what’s left folded into a reality show focused Discovery +, while HBO remains primarily a repository for films that have finished their theater runs. Zaslav is an old school “theaters first” guy and also a penny pincher, so bye bye Harley, bye bye Young Justice, and bye bye any relief for Toonami.
  14. Apparently Blue Beetle, despite being completed, and starting the Latino kid from Cobra Kai fresh off of well…Cobra Kai, is next to be canned. Warner is apparently going to axe it after viewing a first print. At this point just give Keaton a shit ton of money and have him play old Bruce in Batman Beyond. It’s what they should have done with him in the first place.
  15. It’s equal parts relapsing and flashbacks.
  16. Tonight’s episode is called “Breaking Bad.” Watch it be entirely about Gene.
  17. Spy X Family 2.
  18. Supposedly this half of the series is a considerable improvement. Guess we’ll see.
  19. Try another approach. ”Yo Fryman, maybe we should just watch the fights tomorrow night.”;
  20. Just in time for the fall season. Adult Swim could use the good news.
  21. More genius decisions from the people who bought the world Morbin Morbius, the Emjoi movie, and want to make Robotech/Macross the new Star Wars. Still, Genndy Tartakovsky is vindicated once again.

  22. That’s a standard herald of regime change. Clearing the deck of anything less than synonymous with the brand to bring in your own stuff and claim credit for its success.
