I would argue that years of showing crap has brought us to the current point of dismal ratings. Continuing to show crap will continue that. If you look at DW's ratings it didn't really do bad, it took the same fat loss just about everything takes after Kai, and if you look at the raw numbers, it hit almost 1.4 mil a couple of times. But when you show something like that, you're doing serious long term damage. Toonami doesn't have a good rep in the anime community anymore. Too many reruns and not enough quality control are a big reason why.

From a ratings standpoint... it doesn't make sense to cancel BC and take that loss for something you already paid for. My argument would be... that having BC on Toonami is bad for Toonami. It's bad to have your brand associated with low quality crap. It creates the perception that your entire block is like that, it hurts the entire block over the long run..... and that perception will continue long after BC has finished airing. That's why it should be canceled. The ratings could drop 50 percent and it wouldn't get cancelled, just moved down. It will never be cancelled due to ratings.

Oh and One Piece, but that was probably more to do with the cost of airing it. The ratings weren't that bad.

Face it, it's unlikely we'll ever see a show cancelled again. They'll probably renew BC after its 51 episode run. I don't think they need to advertise individual shows, they need to advertise that Toonami still exists at this point. The amount of anime fans that aren't aware of Toonami's existence is staggering.

Unless you're a fan of that somewhat obscure anime Dagashi Kashi or a fan of 2d porn.. then I'd say there's almost zero chance you've heard any of the names listed here.

I'm waiting for the twist where they realize the government is evil, and the Klaxxosaurs are trying to save the planet or something.

I think it's between Overlord and Seven Deadly Sins for top anime this season. Haven't seen anything special from Franxx so far, and I think it will be forgotten after this season. Grancrest is a hyper fast paced mess. Killing bites is enjoyable ecchi fighting trash but that's about it. Death March is a more enjoyable version of in another world with my smartphone, but that's not saying much.

Ok so supposedly Goku was feral and vicious as a baby. Supposedly all Saiyans were like that. I don't think Toriyama remembers this. Also, who was supposed to raise baby Goku on Earth? Were they just counting on a random hermit who doesn't mind raising an evil baby to raise him until he was big enough to wipe out humanity? As usual with Dragonball nothing makes sense.

I mean I guess Trunks affected the current timeline with the warning about the androids? But that happened 10 years ago so not much anyone can do about it now. And without time travel, Cell would have absorbed the androids in the future and destroyed the planet. How is that a better outcome than not using time travel? Nah this arc is totally different than the brain injury thing =P I always heard of it referred to as "mastered super saiyan" , the point where Goku powers up to full power to fight Cell.

I honestly don't know what kind of sense you can be said to have if you air BC after seeing the reviews. All I know about him.. is he likes mechs... he likes old stuff.... and he likes shows that are clones of other shows that have already shown. That's why I still say its Kabaneri the AOT clone.

Yeah I mean.... there's almost zero demand for this sequel. That's the first worrying thing. It's also from the year 2000. It's old. A lot of viewers weren't even born when this came out. It just seems to be in keeping with Toonami's philosophy of trying to recapture their old glory with old shows/ old franchises.

I'm not sure how this new FLCL is gonna pan out at all. I still feel like those 6 episodes were a lucky stroke that will be almost impossible to recreate all these years later.

The two Shonen actually worth watching they can't get. I'm really not sure what happens after the Dragonball era is over. Either they make some good decisions finally and maybe Toonami sees a resurgence, or they make more bad decisions and without Dragonball to prop it up Toonami gets canned.

Hopefully they actually are forced to get a new non shonen, non long running anime that can hold its own at the top of the block. Part of the reason I think they don't do that anymore is due to Super and Kai. If they did get a new hot show they'd have to give it the AOT treatment, airing it 3rd or 4th.
