Darling in the Franxx is watchable but nothing special at this point. It's only up to 4 episodes but so far it hasn't lived up to the hype.

So not as dismal as last weeks ultra bad ratings.. but still bad. 79 percent retention for the first 3 shows. Only DBZ shows above 700k. Eh who knows. Sometimes weekly Shonen save their budgets for the final arc. Or just the biggest fights. The last arc has an assload of fights with like 50 different people. I'll never understand why they decided to create a poorly animated version of the movies. They should have saved their money and just started after the Frieza movie.

After DBZ ended there was a semi popular fan fic where Goku had his brain injury erased and became evil. It feels like this arc kinda got the idea from that. Ok also.... Whis says time travel isn't allowed because it can affect the past. But guess what? In DBZ it doesn't work like that. When Trunks gave the warning to Goku and friends and returned to his own time everything was exactly the same as when he left. Goku had still died of the heart virus, and the androids were still alive and rampaging. Nothing Trunks does in the past will affect his timeline. The past he traveled to is already a completely different timeline than the one he comes from. Guess the writers forgot again eh?

Toriyama complained as well due to Super looking like shit. They really up their game later on, too bad it takes 100 episodes to get to a point where it's worth watching.

Whoa whoa that's totally wrong. Dende was actually knocked off the lookout and is currently on the ground. They show that in the original.

I said it was non harem, but it will almost definitely end up having a harem element to it by the end of its run. Non harem anime toss in a harem element for the same reason they toss in lots of cute girls, it sells.

Well.... its supposed to happen in April... so... it could be if it was simuldubbed. That's scary. If he airs that he really is just an asshole.

Re Zero has a harem element to it, not a full on harem anime. He's surrounded by a bunch of girls, one pair of twins, a half elf, a loli, a tsundere, and... a "girl" that's a trap. After 1 season only one girl is in love with him so far but its pretty obvious it's going to end up being more.

Boruto or Gundam Thunderbolt. Oh and S3 of TG. That's all I can think of that's on par with airing Black Clover.

It might be an exaggeration but then again, you may be underestimating the sheer number of shitty harem anime that get cranked out per year. It's so popular that even non harem anime like SAO and AGK feel obligated to throw in a harem element. Gate and Overlord which I frequently recommend for Toonami have that as well. Re: Zero and No Game no life... it's just everywhere. The only genres that seem to avoid this are Shonen and Sci Fi stuff like Gundam.

What wait? Infinity Clock arc is about the infinity clock. The Celestial spirit arc is the one with the bizarro spirits. They're both filler arcs and both just awful.

After careful consideration, I still say no to Akame being harem. Other than Mine and Esdeath no one shows any real romantic feeling for Tatsumi. Najenda? Nothing. Leone... some teasing but that's about it. Akame... seemed like she cared about Tatsumi the same way she cared about all of her teammates Bulat... maybe some mild flirting? Sheele.... Don't really remember anything other than her comforting him Chelsea.... He peeked on her in a hotspring once. Was there anything else? If everyone didn't constantly die, it could have easily turned into a harem. I think the most I'd say is that it's an action/fantasy anime with some harem elements I guess? But when I think harem I'm thinking more like Infinite Stratos, Haganai, or Familiar of Zero where it's a bunch of girls who blatantly love the mc and constantly fight over him.

I don't, that's the sad thing. I'm just saying you can't take 90 percent of anime off the table for your anime block just because it's harem or ecchi because that stuff is everywhere, even in some of the best anime of all time.

Tenchi yeah, but that's about it. Ummm Akame Ga Kill a harem? Hmmm. I say no. It's listed as "Action, Adventure, Fantasy" No harem tag. None of the girls seem to be seriously into him romantically nor do they seem heartbroken when he gets with Mine. And then everyone dies. Well the point is ....when you have a trashy hit like High school of the Dead... Toonami always manages to pass on it. Sure it's trashy, but it has action and it's a million times more entertaining than watching any of their Gundam shows. It's a combination of action, entertainment and boobs that would probably get ratings. DxD has tons of action, comedy, in addition to boobs. Fourth season coming out soon as well. I don't know, it doesn't seem like the block can get much lower. Might as well try some stuff.
