Did you ever make it to the Infinity Clock or Celestial spirit arcs in fairytail? They're pretty bad. Happens in Shonen a lot.

False blue was the name I saw, for him suddenly becoming on par with SS Blue for absolutely no reason. -
Remember, Cartoon Networks ratings suck fat hairy balls. As long as that continues Toonami probably won't even lose hours.

OMG TOONAMI IS GETTING CANCELED DUE TO BAD RATINGS!!!!!1111ONEONEONE

I can't believe people still respond to obvious Zeni trolling.

Deku is the 9th user then? I didn't realize there were that many. And unfortunately due to dbags spoiling things on the internet the same way they did with AOT spoilers I have a general idea of what happens next week, but still looking forward to it.

Naruto beats Naruto clone, sounds about right. The final episodes of Kai have really dragged Toonami down. Losing 20 percent a week and preventing their new shows from airing earlier and actually getting eyeballs on em. I think that Johnsonhood guy was actually right about the DB hour really boning Toonami with people who come just for DB and then fuck off. FLCL is doing exactly what I expected after the first week, mediocre ratings for a sequel no one wanted for a show that a lot of their viewers aren't going to remember. -

Lol one show over 800k, and just barely. As Trump would say.. SAD -
Kill la Kill had more great characters than you could shake a stick at. This show has one good character.

It was an entertaining episode but the writing is just awful. I know it's anime but they didn't have to go full anime on this. So the long awaited plot twist came, was kind of underwhelming since we suspected something like this and 100 percent knew APE was evil. Star Entity.... not even mentioned in the previous 19 episodes right? Cloning, Aliens, world destroying time bomb, people living in the matrix, spaceship battles.... this shows all over the place now.

The long hyped S2 of AOT aired 4th to mediocre ratings as well, nothing that airs at that spot does well. Stuff that airs behind DB doesn't do well in general. -

gundam Two years ago today, Gundam returned to Toonami!
Daos replied to OwlChemist81's topic in Toonami & [adult swim]
I didn't even finish either of them. Had zero interest. The only thing fun about IBO was making fun of the non stop lunch breaks every episode. But this feeds into another theory of mine, that when Toonami shows shitty anime like they've made a habit of doing.... it really drives viewers away in the long term. Because of these two Gundam shows I have absolutely no interest in ever watching another Gundam anime. How many people are going to want to see more Shonen if their first Shonen is Black Clover? -

Well, would Turner rather have 500k for 30 seconds or the trivial amount of viewership the ads helped garner? Assuming of course that they didn't just have free space, pauses in sports events can be unpredictable and lead to extra ad space. So maybe they just slipped in ads for Turner affiliated shows when they had the opportunity? In that case no harm in trying. I think we can all agree that any money spent advertising a show you're showing 4th on Toonami is probably a waste of money. -

It costs Turner Network a million dollars a minute to advertise their own shows rather than sell that ad space to an actual buyer. -

It's a million dollars a minute. Unless they had absolutely no other buyers for the spots that's what it cost them. -

I have no idea, seems like these crazy kids are all on Hulu Netflix and Crunchyroll now. I think Toonami needs a partner kinda like Croll and Funimation partnered up. But I mean any advertising could probably help right? A lot of anime fans still have no idea Toonami exists. The MHA numbers are bad, but pretty much what I was expecting from a show that's years old and 50 episodes behind airing behind the DB power hour of doom. Airing good stuff like MHA is a step in the right direction to getting viewers back though... probably. They kinda torched what was left of their reputation with Black Clover, Tokyo Ghoul, and 3 seasons of fairly unpopular Gundam shows. For new shows in 2018 we're getting MHA and 2 FLCL seasons. Anything else? -

MHA retained even worse this week. They probably should have spent their advertising money on it instead of FLCL since all the people I know at work that watch this have no idea it's on Toonami. Not a one. Kai's final episodes continue to do poorly for some reason, guess everyone was just too burnt out to watch the final fight. FLCL did ok, but definitely not great for a Toonami exclusive premiere they've been hyping for over a year. Especially when they dropped all that ad money on it. We'll see how Toonami can do in the post Dragonball power hour era, I really think it's been weighing it down. -
flcl FLCL (FOOLY COOLY) PROGRESSIVE EPISODE #1 DISCUSSION!!
Daos replied to OwlChemist81's topic in Episode Discussion Archive
Well I just saw it, and it was a lot of weird stuff. It's kind of FLCL's thing. Lotta nostalgia packed into this first episode. It looks slick. I need to see a few episodes before I can tell if they're going anywhere with this or it's just going to be the writers throwing random stuff out there and calling it a day. If I have to call the plot now, I'd say the somewhat numb and uncaring MC will end up learning to care about stuff by the end of the season. If I had to guess how this is going to do in the ratings... I'd say decently for week one due to the advertising, then a big drop off for the rest of the run. I don't really see this having any mainstream appeal. -
I read that, it's actually pretty good.
