I think you're confusing the fact that it was widely advertised and hyped for popularity. It's not anywhere near popular.

No actually I thought he was referencing the end of Kai being non Canon in this thread, but he was talking about the Arale episode I think. Why would anyone even care about the Arale episode being canon or not? It's one episode.

Well first of all, the notion of Uub giving Goku even the slightest bit of a challenge even in his base form is already ridiculous, and will be even more so by the time Super finally ends. Also, wouldn't it be slightly weird that no one in GT remembers any of the new Super Saiyan God forms? GT isn't Canon anymore. DELETED.

If it was just the final 30 episodes of Super I'd say Super was a fine successor to DBZ, even surpassing it. However... there's 100 episodes of hot garbage before that.

Also known as the episode that tried to finish off the Dragonball saga forever. Sadly it failed, and we got GT. Sadly GT failed, so they retconned all of this out of existence and we got Super.

I think it's some sort of a cultural thing to be honest. Seinen heroes typically are interested in girls and even have sex while Shonen heroes show no interest or get a nosebleed when they see a ladies bra. Maybe young Japanese boys don't want to read about their heroes getting romantically involved with girls or having real feelings?

I just assume they have a very limited selection of what they can get and when they can get it, so if a newish show shows up that's available they just take it and don't worry about whether or not its good or if anyone will like it. That's how I like to explain Black Clover anyway.

I'd have to go with Dimension W as the worst, if we're not counting stuff like Wulin warriors. Honorable mentions go to Casshern sins and Tokyo Ghoul. Ben actually likes Kekkashi... I have no idea why.

Fairytail is especially bad on this because those guys are surrounded by nothing but girls with playmate bodies yet somehow it never gives any of these teenage guys so much as an erection. Gotta focus on training!

Don't forget Chrono trigger and Skyrim. A pity they didn't actually do anything funny with the references though.

Isn't it strange that so many Shonen protagonists have zero interest in women? Luffy, Natsu, Goku, Naruto? Anyone ever wonder why that became the popular trend?
