naruto Naruto Shippuden Episode 239 Discussion
rpgamer replied to StarPanda's topic in Episode Discussion Archive
So, I'm starting to suspect all the ninja in the village carefully plan when to start having children, so that their offspring can all be about the same age, so they can go to school at the same time, and form into the same team as their parents. -
Damn. I could really go for a good juicy burger with some prepared horseradish. Shit, I haven't had that in forever.
-
Yeah, I'm mentally screaming a lot of "citation needed!" for those ads. The accompanying one with the "one juul pod contains as much nicotine" blah blah blah also bugs me. Like, ok? And you're just... trying to make a 1:1 comparison between pods and individual cigs? I'm no smoker or anything, but surely one vape pod is meant to replace more than a few cigs, right?

Someone needs to invent silverware that can go in the microwave.

"I did a dumb thing, and thought, 'Man, it'd be nice if somebody would invent something that could've prevented the dumb thing." -
As someone that didn't pay all that much attention to the first, what does the second improve on?

So, did you fry the microwave, or manage to stop it before anything exploded? -
Pretty great soundtrack, tho.

What's the biggest strap-on you've taken up the butt?

I haven't really super paid attention to this whole deal, but this story is basically kinda the impression I've gotten of it all. It sounds pretty explicitly like predatory behavior, to target girls in situations where he can feel confident that they wouldn't be in the right frame of mind to report anything. Younger, inexperienced, with himself in a seemingly untouchable position. I can just imagine countless con goers feeling much the same, feeling grossed out and/or ashamed for allowing him to act that way with him.

Tbf, a broiler is basically just an upside down grill anyway. Crank that bitch up. The whole point of a broiler is to be hot as fuck.
-
I will forever be disappointed that they didn't have him at least subtly try to act like Bob. I mean, I'm guessing there's licensing issues or whatever and maybe they couldn't be overt, but they coulda at least tried something with a little plausible deniability.

I hope this quickly gets relegated to the late hours. -
Did Adult Swim lose the 8:00 PM hour again?
rpgamer replied to Doom Metal Alchemist's topic in Toonami & [adult swim]
Huh. Are they actually jumping all over the place with episodes, or are they maybe at least trying to clump together most of the continuity and trimming down the fluff? -
Final Fantasy XIII Might Not Have Been A Very Good Game...
rpgamer replied to TrigunBebop's topic in Free-For-All
Tbf, 14 is the second MMO, so it barely feels like a game from the franchise anyway. But yeah. I'm not too sad that I skipped out on the 13 hype train. Seems like they went a bit overboard with it. Might still give 15 a try eventually. -
Oh. Ok. Guess we're gonna keep dragging this ant thing out. Alrighty then.
-
Oh, certainly, no doubt. But, I think maybe KH is just in a really awkward position, due to how long this has taken. It feels like it wants to target and skew a little younger, and in the beginning, I'd say it grabbed the right audience. But so many of those fans are grown now. We may still be mostly die hard, and would more than welcome the inclusion of the old FF. But it also still has to want to sorta try to grab some new fans, too, and it's still sorta trying to target a little younger than those of us who have grown, who just may not have the same familiarity and love for the old characters (or worse, would be the ones expecting newer ones). Unless you've got a better argument, it's what I'll choose to believe, to make myself feel better about the old crew being purged. (seriously, Leon and co. were the ones to set us on the right path, how can they just get rid of them?)
-
Sometimes, I feel a little bad when I get a haircut, and have to tell them every time "And can you thin it out a little?" It's just so thick otherwise.
-
Tbf, as long as it took this game to happen, the old FF characters are a bit outdated now. Disappointed, but I could see how someone might decide "Y'know, let's maybe not draw attention to how many new FF games have come out by now that we're not going to represent."
-
Remember when we were told they would be archiving everything before switching over to that final version?
-
Y'know, the whole "real feel" thing sounds pretty dumb at this point. Ain't nobody out there that can tell the difference between -5 and -50. At a certain point, it all just feels like "fucking cold."
-
I would guess private schools are playing by different rules? Do they still get all the same government aid and bonuses and whatnot? Plus they've probably usually got their own internal criteria for who they want representing them (although "potentially successful white dudes" is probably on everybody's list).

I haven't played much of this yet, but I'm getting the impression that a lot of the game has been... idk, dumbed down or something for Ultimate. No more special unlock requirements for characters. No unlockable stages at all. Fighting feels... softer? Maybe not that exactly. But I know it left a bad taste the first time I just insta-died at high damage (I think that's what happened. may have been a stage hazard involved). I guess it's not all strictly a bad thing. I can see where a lot of design choices were made to make it an easy to access party game. Maybe what I'm feeling is just the realization that they've pared out a lot of the solo aspects of the game. Can't really blame them for shifting focus. Just not quite the experience I was looking forward to. Hopefully maybe a little more time exploring more of the game could change my tune.

The most ironic part of this argument is that anyone of passing intellect knows colleges just don't give a shit. All they care about is whether or not you'll flunk classes and ruin their accreditation or whatever. They just want your money. Don't have money? It only takes a couple of brain cells to apply for financial aid. They don't fucking care if it's your money or not, they're getting paid either way. So, yeah. College recruitment letters amount to little more than "Hey, we want all of the cash you have or qualify for." And anyone that's been to college can confirm that any idiot can qualify for enough to coast for a couple years. Military recruitment gives off the same vibes, but since I didn't go that route, I couldn't say what they're getting out of the deal.
