No one really knows how to respond to it when you really think about it. I guess I would ask how does her dad / family deal with it? Some people need emotional support [ even if you find it hard to express, just being a shoulder or an ear could be helpful ] while some will face it down and feel more like talking about other things. They aren't ignoring it, they are choosing not to feed that fear. Aneurysms are teh s uck. But they are even more genetic than cancer so if you don't have a known family history of them including coronary stuff, you are probably ok. I have 4 familial aneurysms in my history - 2 on both sides of the direct family, 1 fatal and 1 non-fatal on both sides. I have a 100% chance of my brain exploding at some point in my life and a 50% chance of waking up and bitching to the doctors about having a headache.

I've had tumors removed in the past. The future will forever be clouded because of that. But I can't let that keep me from doing things on a day to day basis because there could very easily be a day where things will change.

Back in the days of 'I Remember Betty' , the only pics possible for use were ones that were pre-loaded to the [ asmb ] featuring characters and items from shows that [ as ] currently had the rights to along with random site specific art. There were no 'personal' type ones possible because anything like that would have had to be approved by Turner legal first [ there were a lot of things in the early days that had miles of tape to wade through just for the forum to exist ] . Eventually, shortly after the HELPER thing started, personal downloads were able to be experimented with although they still had to go through Mod approval to try to weed out the hentai [ didn't always work but unless someone knew and called them on it, it could fly for a little anyway ] . However, many people still chose to stick with media avatars rather than personal photos because that's what we had really grown up on. Even when we moved from Lithium to nodebb and avatars were basically anything goes within reason, most stuck with things that meant something to them rather than straight up pics of themselves. We are a forum of insane shut-ins that are best displayed as cartoon characters. I still remember my main avatars from the early years. Started out as Kirara the fire kitten from InuYasha, then confused tv-watching Faye from Cowboy Bebop, the cat magnet from the [ as ] fridge, and then Arthur the kitty from Code Geass before those avatars were banished. Final form on nodebb was my Bitch Pudding banner from the old boards.

So old I remember when it took an entire room full of electronics to play 'Pong' .

Had to be back in the 50's but there were these dehydrated rice & chicken and rice & beef military drums. Scoop a little into a mug, pour hot water on it and instant food. Was actually pretty good, I remember pulling pieces out and eating it dry. I have never found the same quality of weird MRE type food since. All of it looks horrifying.
