  1. Considering the types of things that far too many of the 'family first / moral majority' type politicians are found to have hidden on their zip drives and in their search histories, I don't think there's any possible way that any of them would be able to bring any sort of 'ban all the animes' law into action without every possible news organization digging up their 'Boku No Pico' fan fic visits. This is just the latest proof that that entire family should have their phones set to 'parental control' and the one with the code either shot or put into Witness Protection. I wonder how many 'the Espers are coming for you!' responses that leaning tangerine has received so far....
  2. Yeah, I don't feel like spending $10+ on a single tube of toothpaste even if it is a fancy Italian import. Jasmin Mint sounds gross as hell but I am intrigued by a black licorice flavored toothpaste. And I guess Birch Box subscriptions occasionally include it but currently burned out on lifestyle boxes.
  3. Pescatarian, probably. With occasional allowances for bird meats but I could live happily on steamed salmon and other seafoods as the main solid meal of any given day. And fresh fruits and select veggies. And someone else pays for all that.
  4. Send those postcards and simple straightforward letters out. Doc and Jackson want their baby out in the world fully formed with all the story possible. But they can only cheerlead. They need their Fluttering Hordes. #SavetheVentureBrothers
  5. Once. I had the flu and needed just a few frickin' things from a store that is literally a few blocks away. I ordered before noon because they have order blocks but didn't get anything until after 8p. And I was charged the delivery fee when it was supposed to be free for first time customers. I'm also glad that I didn't allow for substitutions because I honestly think they would have just tossed anything in there. I have not bothered with it since. I think they deliver to the next city over before they get to the neighborhood they are actually a part of.
  6. I've actually wondered if it's just because copper being a soft metal absorbs body heat faster so you end up sort of creating your own recycling heat pad with those things. Which would give it some scientific validity since heat eases arthritus issues. I wouldn't want to test the heat conduction in the winters around here though. -30'F freezes eyeglasses to eyeballs.
  7. Lazzo isn't there anymore. There's a greater possibility of a polite but strong fan base reaction to things having a better response than the 'I know more about these things than any of you because I said I do so there' doorslam response garnered by both Metalocalypse fans and Moral Orel fans. Jackson and Doc aren't able to do more than cheerlead us on at this point because they would naturally be seen as wanting to do more as it's their livelihood which makes their voices less. As for syndication, Venture Brothers, like pretty much all the [ as ] originals, never got it's chance at that because until streaming services really started to gain in popularity, [ as ] bunnyhugged all their shows in order to funnel views only towards their cable block and the website and to get people to buy the DVDs / Blurays in between. Family Guy had basic tv Fox, then [ as ] picked it up, and now it runs on basic Fox, [ as ] , a few other Fox owned channels on cable and I think it's on all the more-open streaming services at this point as well. So syndication numbers shouldn't be allowed to play a part in this since [ as ] doesn't aim for personal syndication. If they did, they wouldn't have arfed up their dealings with the Frisky Dingo peeps and would have had Archer from the start.
  8. I think the question everyone really has is does it do what it claims or is it just a stiffer version of a brace? I have a regular brace for my bad knee that I rarely wear because it gets itchy after awhile but never got one of those copper ones because I didn't feel like spending extra money on something that might not live up to its claims.
  9. Other shows have been brought back. Hell, how many times has Family Guy been cancelled and it's still here? The call for support and mailings is still valid. Flood the building with butterflies. I'm planning on a stop at a local vintage shop tomorrow after the doctors to see if they have any Monarch postcard singles floating around. If not, I'll art something up since I don't have a social media presence to exploit.
  10. Currently Tom's of Maine because a] I was feeling pretentious enough to get Tom's of Maine for the lols. b] it tastes disgusting so it's now a DIY covid test every night.
  11. Summary - the only thing VB that came up during the online panel was the origin of 24's voice [ they heard someone with that exact sort of voice at a Thai restaurant and couldn't get it out of either of their heads ] . The topic of New York movies and they managed to stay to topic even with Doc. Which, if you know anything about Doc, is a minor miracle some days. However, the info that I do have at this moment is there is a current request for polite demands for the continuation of 'Venture Brothers' from the fan base. Season 8 is confirmed - it was being scripted, storyboarded, and all that fun for the past couple of years [ it's slow careful work and the slowdown due to covid hasn't exactly sped things up for the scattered team of AstroBase ] . But, it is not confirmed that there will be a renewal for a 9th season at this time or that a renewal is even being considered. The call is to hit up [ as ] on their various social media accounts to #SaveVentureBrothers. Show your love and support for the program. Show them that the fan base is quite alive and well and numerous. This is not a call to repeat the reactions of DethKlok fans [ disclosure - total fan here, did not have a flaming meltdown but still pissed ] or behave like one of those mental midget fans who decided screaming and acting up in McDonald's was entirely 'swifty'. This is a call to make those fan numbers less 'number' and more 'reality' through the straightforward art of online postings. Further, I propose the use of the physical mail to make those numbers known as well. However, due to general restrictions and work-at-home orders for most of those at [ as ] / WS , no packages. No one will be there to get them in any sort of time, any sort of packages that they would need could be lost in a pile which wouldn't make anyone all that happy [ this is a battle but not of assholes ] and there are plenty of people who couldn't send a physical package out if that was the requirement [ ex...cans of spinach...pizza box tops...candy...fake money...there's been a lot of campaigns in the past on the old boards after all ] just out of money concerns. The proposal is postcards or single sheet printouts featuring Monarch butterflies [ because a single sheet is quick to mail and quick to count ] . Keep the message simple on the post card or the printout - save Venture Brothers, the fan base is here, we care. Sign it. Be a real person to those that will get these mailings. One person could spam the same line over and over again on a twitter or facebook account and it'll end up being considered spam from one person who didn't even leave their couch to do so. You can't really say that about actual physical mailings. Pass along this suggestion to all those that you think would help with this. Go online, let your voice be heard that way, and send them a postcard / printout in the mail. [ adult swim ] 1065 Williams Street Atlanta, GA 30309 Go Team Venture.
  12. In the slight possibility that people interested are watching this particular thread, the panel will be airing at 1:30 central. www.dragoncon.org It's in the Main Events link as the 'We Got This' panel. Naturally, any news from the panel will hit the webs within seconds of it being said anyway so there's that.
  13. Roseanne set herself on fire in public, pure and simple. The Domestic Diva gladly became a grease fire for the attention which has been par for the course with her for decades. I mean, she deliberately borked the National Anthem live just to be an edgy cow - something that she would have been spitted for by the same people who now think she's being punished for her truths or whatever the current excuse is. I don't recall Tim Allen going all wah-wah-mah-conservativism until after the cancellation announcement where it was attempted to make it all about that when there were other, more likely things like money and licensing going on. His character was nothing more than a dad who was a couple of generations behind in his thinking than his daughters, nothing more and nothing less. While I can't doubt that it happens sometimes [ executives can be dicks, end of story. there's only room for one ego a lot of the time ] , most places don't give a crap as long as you are a functional actor when under contract. If there's a morals clause, you knew it when you signed it. If there's a non-disclosure clause [ don't be spoilin' that movie / season finale / series finale after all ] , you are responsible for staying quiet. And while some places may have a limit on political activity for the sake of being neutral, who you vote for isn't going to come up unless you make it the main conversation or your public behaviors make it obvious that you will not function with the others in the cast.
  14. Naw, the cocaine thing happened prior to Home Improvement [ for the most part, there were rumors of drug use still occurring during Home Improvement but I don't think anything ever really became of those rumors ] and I actually rooted for him seeming to have turned his life around. Last Man Standing was cancelled on ABC because Tim Allen claimed that the channel executives didn't care for a strong conservative male figure in a show. He made a big whine about it on mainly conservative platforms like Fake News and Fox picked it up as a 'win for conservatives everywhere!' . But the thing is, the show was already being made by Fox to begin with and was being licensed out to ABC at a pretty high fee. Dropping the show was more than likely a money saving measure that had zilch to do with anyone's perceived political affiliations but you can't tell that to the types of inbred hillbillies who only believe that Fox saved their show when it was Fox's show from the start.
  15. It's honestly a trope at this point. Do something really really stupid and act like a total crazy jackass which tanks your career and future potentials. Claim the world is against you because they found out you're a card-carrying 'conservative' . Get work that way, maybe. Tim Allen got his show back on the aire. However, Victoria Jackson is still attempting to relive the glory days by posting youtube videos and finding jesus via breast cancer.
  16. I bike about 6-8 miles every work day when biking is possible. Once the snow starts, I walk at least 4 miles in the snow for work. Used to do Zoomba on Wii on my days off for the added controlled cardio. I really need to restart that. ~10 arm curls using tote bags of books as the weights [ quarantine thing but it works ] . Green tea and herbal teas for relaxation. Set aside time once a week to just soak all cares away and start over. Sometimes with fancy face mask or scrub.
  17. You could get the same level of random nonsense hate-spew by hanging out at a nursing home with the dementia patients between pudding cups and meds. The difference is you'd probably get an award for community service for time spent at the nursing home. With the GOP, you just get a white sheet that smells of AXE and piss.
  18. I miss Con times. This would have either caused a seizure or applause depending on the crowd.
  19. Don't forget a bonus t-shirt. One thing that he had going for him and you can't deny it - I don't think anyone has ever brought together the entirety of a convention like his presence did. I saw Gamers warning Sci-Fi warning Fantasy warning Cosplayers warning Kid Animation warning Sceptics warning Whovians warning...etc etc etc that he was around and to watch your back and not get into any elevators in certain hotels without a friend because he was known to lurk those areas at certain times.
  20. What's Michael? #1 - Makoto Kobayashi My Hero Academia Smash! #2 - Hirofumi Neda My Hero Academia Smash! #3 - Hirofumi Neda Brutal Bosses and Their Prey - Harvey A. Hornstein, Ph.D Pop Magick - Alex Kazemi 9 to go...
  21. I really want to say that this is a poke at the massively long hiatus between seasons where everyone always seems to think that they've been cancelled and then 'new episodes starting ...' happens. If you follow the Dragon Con virtual con thing going on this year, there's a Main panel tomorrow at ~1:30 central 'We Got This' featuring Jackson and Doc. It was recorded earlier obviously but there should be info about VB and maybe the twit was either an early warning or bait to get people to tune in.
  22. I'm not 'old' . I'm classically vintage.
