  3. ... ... I'm gonna do this next time I'm dragging recycling to the bins and have enough to do this proper. Bare in mind that my recycling bins are a couple blocks away and right next to a police station so y'all might not see me for a while after...
  4. Viz Manga Sampler 2018 - Various [ I was cleaning the shelves and got sucked into it ] Jujutsu Kaisen #6 - Gege Akutami One-Punch Man #21 - One 1 to go...
  5. Dude has two little kids running around. They know better but still. It looks like water until you unscrew the cover after all. True story though. He was at a gas station with the boy [ age ~7 ] and in an attempt to rib the kid, asked him if he wanted his dad to get him some whiskey for the road. The kid replied completely straight-faced that he had given up the hard stuff. Even funnier, there was a cop standing nearby that saw the whole exchange. I had a proud when I heard that one.
  6. Posting in here for future potential bad web-cam fashion show...
  7. Hazmat suit. It's MN in the height of Covid season right now. The trade off is he has mason jars full of moonshine for no good reason.

  10. Shut up, it's a serious thing! I wanna find my crap, it was in that aisle over there and then they moved it and now I can't find it. Whatever it was was very important too. Like peanut butter or those plastic bags you pitch a turkey in or something.
  11. ^^^ Also, pretty sure K_N would skin you alive if you tried and succeeded.
  12. If you are literally freezing your tits off, you fight faster and harder to end it quickly so you can get back home under a frickin' blanket. SCIENCE FACT!
  13. Moon and Mercury had boots, Jupiter had sports shoes, only Mars and Venus had heels. The boots had low heels and since I have a pair similar heel-wise, you can run in them if you have to. It's a solid heel and their boots are fitted so there wouldn't be any slipping movement. Plus, Moon had that 'Moon Kick' early on before she had access to actual distance weapons so still needed a solid shoe for that. For Mercury, the boots would be a sensible alternative to her usual school-issued shoes which were more like slip-ons. Since both were originally from the same school, it's possible that their transformation to basic boots was based on their initial school-issued outfits which would have been the same. Jupiter was always a tomboy, an athlete and a late transfer to the school so she kept the more grounding athletic shoe to compliment her electricity attacks and her ability to go head-to-head in a strength battle if necessary which would require as much foot tread on the ground as possible. Mars went to a private school which had heels as part of their uniform and she was a Shinto Priestess used to wearing geta while at the temple. She already had plenty of practice balancing and running in heels and her attacks were distance based from the start. The same can be said for Venus who was a transfer student used to fighting crime in Europe for a bit. She also started out immediately with more long distance attacks which don't require 'sensible' shoes, just shoes that she would be familiar with. As far as the whole Star Trek thing, honestly maybe the whole 'no positive or well-written gay characters' is because in that future time it wasn't a point of contention at all. Other than Kurt tongue-punching the mouth-holes of anything with obvious boobs, I don't think actual sexual orientation was considered something to scream loudly about. Humanity had moved on and all orientations were just that - part of the individual and no longer a reason for judgement / harassment by others. In other words, it might not be that it was omitted because 'icky' but because the series as set was set in a future where today's issues with nosey judgy idiots wouldn't have even been an active memory. The outfit choices...have you seen the types of clothing on old sci-fi pulp covers? Everyone in the 50's and 60's thought future clothing would be all bared chests and crotch-snuggies. And Ricardo Montalban would have found any excuse to show off his chest at that age anyway. He was damned proud of it and worked hard to keep himself that frickin' muscular at the age he was at when the movie was shot.
  14. Damn straight. I'm also the one who saved up and bought a set of metal chopsticks to eat my shitty $0.10 ramen bricks with so I could feel like I had something. I still have and use those things too. Gods damned things are nearly 30 years old now.
  15. I drag my meals home and eat them in my cave like a good little goblin.
  16. They were the cheap ones. That's all we'd get at home because paying extra for anything name brand was frivolous. It's why I also hate Rite-Aide flavored drink. Screw you, gimme Kool-Aide. Preferably grape. During my college years, they were the cheap crappy tea bags that I would slowly pillage from the college cafeteria over the course of the school year in order to have something to drink during breaks. In those years, it was one brick of cheap ramen a day and tea. Split the brick, extra water and two cups of tea [ one bag ] per meal for two meals daily. Currently I keep Republic of Tea and Harney & Sons teas stocked here - each little tea bag makes a full glass pot of tea without being all watered down and weird. And if I did try the old cheap garlic bread trick, it would now be done in a glorious Batman toaster. Classy af.
  17. I used to very lightly butter a slice of bread, sprinkle it with garlic powder and toast it in the toaster for garlic toast. That and two cups of tea using the same tea bag twice would often be a meal.
  18. Max can handle the criticism. I saw what he did to that sheepie. That poor innocent little sheepie.
  19. I freely admit that I just don't like what feels like a split in the general Toonami schedule for an in-house comedy program even if it's temporary and mainly as a placeholder for a future program that fits the schedule better. I already fall asleep by Shippuden as it is. I'm still sore over premiers getting pitched to the graveyard slots in favor of comedy reheats and that was how long ago?
  20. No offense to Max but Gemusetto should be at the ass-end of the schedule. Even with Demon Slayer being re-runs currently, it still should have a higher priority on the schedule than an in-house comedy parody.
  21. It's been snowing since 8a today and this isn't the main event which is happening Thursday. I like the winter cold but kinda wished I had an extra week - I still need to put up the plastic on the windows.
  22. ^^^???^^^ Gods damn it, @crackymckrackin @Rogue_Alphonse - is that the reason y'all wanted me to join?? Y'all are gross. EWWWWWWWWWWWWW
  23. I read the Tokyo Ghoul light novels. I won't say that I won't read more in the future because I did enjoy the ones I read. But I'm not currently in a light novel binge mode. And since I have so many other books right here staring at me waiting patiently to be read, I don't exactly have an excuse to go out and get a bunch of interesting looking light novels to add to the stacks.
  24. Me : so excited that the two new shelving units I ordered finally showed up so that I can shrink that particular footprint while increasing book storage. Especially since it had mysteriously not been delivered on schedule due to 'labeling issues' Me : sees that one of the boxes has been beat all to hell and re-taped, all the parts had very obviously been punted across at least one floor somewhere, the main sides are damaged, and the little baggie holding all the nails, screws, plugs, and pegs is missing. Also, my cat is angry because there are piles of books by her toy basket and that is not allowed because that's her space. She's gonna poop on the carpet tonight, I just know it.
