Cops was at least honest enough to make its "stars" sign waivers, while Live PD has a more cavalier attitude about that. I doubt the latter is coming back. Heck, I wouldn't be surprised if we start to see fictional shows about police (like Chicago P.D.) be either cancelled or put on lengthy hiatuses amidst all of this.

At this point, why not? It wouldn't be too bad to slip in a call for a better world right before some much-needed escapism.

I wouldn't jump to conclusions yet. America has been doing pretty badly, but I'm skeptical that Japan's relaxed attitude with no restriction of movement and small testing capacity is working. It feels like the Abe administration is trying to sweep this entire pandemic under the rug in time for the Olympics, but even that may not work out. As for the original topic... eh, I'm not convinced this show is safe. If they're announcing a premiere date, they must have a big batch of episodes ready, but that could just mean they'll run out in September and the show will be delayed then instead of now.

I figure it wouldn't be too hard to go back to recording like normal, since all that's needed is someone to disinfect the booth once the performer is finished, but it's nice to see them taking extra precautions. Using a studio that can hold an orchestra for just a few people is fittingly ridiculous.

This is great. I was hoping the pandemic would make them grab some catalogue shows out of necessity, and their first choice couldn't have been better. It's also fitting because this was the last show my college's anime club watched before all the schools shut down, so I know a little bit about this one already. If they can get another show of this caliber to replace Demon Slayer, I'll be over the moon. As for Food Wars!, the rights are probably entangled because Crunchyroll is the primary streamer for seasons 3 and up. I'm sure the rest of it will show up eventually, which might be good for me because I haven't bothered with it past halfway through the first season.

I don't think I'd watch Shield Hero if it were licensed, but I wouldn't mind Toonami airing it at all, even if it would cause a backlash. More than anything, I think the block really needs to make a move on the Crunchyroll catalog. It pains me how that alleged "partnership" amounted to almost nothing. Are the TV rights for shows like KonoSuba! just not available? Are they going for ridiculously high prices? Whatever the reason is, I think the block should try to strike a deal and get some of that content even if it's a bit unwieldy for them. With how slim the pickings are right now, it's good to future-proof.

At this point, I would accept most additions, new or old, that aren't long-running shonen. Even Bebop would be nice because I could DVR the two episodes I missed from the last time they played it. [y'all need real relaxation hours]

Who says they have to replace every slot with reruns because there's nothing to air? I'm sure they can go to Funi and Sentai for catalogue titles. Honestly, having the block go back to airing older, lesser-known shows would be a good way to entice me to watch it again.

The virus is definitely more deadly in older people, plus those who have compromised immune systems. Cancelling the Olympics over this would be objectively pretty cool, but that's as far as I'll go with this. It's egregious to celebrate the outbreak of a disease that could kill any number of people.
