the dark side of the force... is it really stronger?
Hornshire replied to Phillies's topic in Free-For-All
Nothing is without consequences. Destruction is not a certainty. After all, hard to see, the future is. Take Palpatine, for example. We do not know much about his past. He may have always been a wicked, cruel being obsessed with power. It's somewhat a chicken and egg question about his nature and corruption. Either way, he maintained both composure and a sense of humor throughout his life, as opposed to devolving into a choke-happy rage beast. That's not to say he wasn't twisted in any way, but rather as far as We can tell, he still retained a large part of himself. -
Pffft. Whatever. You've always been a hero, dude.

the dark side of the force... is it really stronger?
Hornshire replied to Phillies's topic in Free-For-All
Yoda says no. But he's biased. Important to note that of the things he does say about it, weaker is not among them. We would posit that he is generally correct, that neither side is stronger, they are merely different paths towards the same goal; one favors might, while the other focuses on mastery. The dark side is easier in the sense that it does not deny the basic truths of the universe, and so you can make large gains quickly. But it is a path mired in options, none too few that will consume you. If you compare them to weapons in a typical first person shooter, the dark side would represent things that have a high damage or rate of fire stat, but low accuracy, such as a shotgun or an SMG. The light side would be comprised of the opposite, things with high accuracy but low damage output over time- a pistol or a sniper rifle. There isn't a best side, or a right one. Simply a choice that bears consequences. -
A few things: One- It is highly questionable what extent, if any, tidal forces have on continental drift. This doesn't destroy your hypothesis, but it bears noting you're already on shaky ground. [Completely irrelevant side note: We have always understood the phrase "no pun intended" to mean a passive lack of intention to include a pun, rather than the active intention of excluding one, despite being a closer interpretation based on syntax.] Two- Why do the advanced beings come? Where were they before? There are a lot of gaps in your explanation. And everything is as to how things could be, and not why they should be. We will grant that it is possible that your take on the situation is correct, but We do not find it remotely plausible, and remain a non-believer. Three- We were expecting a power point. :robot(

Your resolve leaves much to be desired. As to, most likely, does your contention. So, for the sake of argument, We shall humor you, and entertain this frivolous notion that fictional universes are contained within everything. Do tell, what evidence supports your claim that these two spheres occur not just within the same continuum, but indeed if tectonics are relevant, upon the same world?

We feel somewhat obligated to say that it's not amazing. But We'll refrain.

Okay, but leaving dependency on external validation aside, presumably the intent on bringing it up is to signal that this event was worth commemorating. The reluctance to show said pic, though, suggests a lack of confidence in your ability to interpret objective reality. It's an odd juxtaposition that more or less disparages the initial claim, because that too is a value judgement. Another possible motive for the statement is to provide evidence. But the possession of evidence is not itself evidence. And if the material purported to be evidence is not convincing, then not even that is evidence, and the claim is then false because you do not in fact possess evidence. Either way, whatever bringing up the pic would do, is undone by not showing it. Which leads back to Our initial question.
