Riding up and down the highway and watching all the fireworks across town was cool as fuck. After I got home, however, I was pretty done with it, too. Neighbors on both sides were launching that shit off like it was going out of style. And like how did these mooks find the only fireworks that sound loud as fuck but do nothing visually?

You know that there are options beyond popular media, right? Even my cynical ass can't deny that there's still great stuff coming out right now.

Yea some people prefer the cabinet, and the games for said cabinet are much cheaper. There's also a countertop version of the MVS if you dont have room for a full cabinet.

The MVS is the heavy one. The AES was fairly lightweight if not bulky. And yes they are separate; you would just need one or the other.

There was the AES which was a cart based home console that ran what's called "arcade perfect" games. In other words the AES could run arcade games at home but as Buddy said, it was and still is very expensive. The MVS was the actual cabinet you'd see in arcades and allowed for up to 6 different game cartridges to be hooked up at a given time. This is totally unique to that system but it's cheaper to get into, after the cabinet of course. It's also the longest running game system in terms of production and game releases, lasting 14 years before being discontinued. Both systems played nigh identical versions of the same games and were not region locked so any and all games would work on any system regardless of country of origin. They're really nice if you have the means and love classic arcade games. There are also two CD based consoles, the CD and CDZ, that are much cheaper but do not run nearly as well.

I had to go to quite a bit of therapy sessions after the Vegas shooting last year. We did talk about what I witnessed and how it made me feel but with so many appointments we eventually ended up on repressed memories I had, like being molested as a child and the abusive home life I had until I was kicked out at the age of 17. Was just a natural progression of things. Sounds like you should talk about it, though, IMO. I wasn't comfortable with it, myself, and it was physically painful to utter those words, but I felt better after awhile because it didn't have such a choke hold on me. Maybe it isn't like that for you, but it is for some others. That being said, I eventually ended my sessions with that therapist after she made the legendary comment of "All gay, lesbian, and trans people were sexually assaulted or abused as children." For all the good she did, she still had that stupid fucking opinion. Had to call it quits there.
