Yeah, I was pretty gobsmacked by this. I'm really losing my religion these days, when the good guys keep perishing while the worst of humanity flourishes to enjoy the best of everything. And the Shield-bros and Vic stans dance in the street. smh For the morbidly curious.

And you would be wrong. Especially if he got into government cybersecurity. In IT you can make people, eventually, usually, sort of heed your advice (maybe not the company board, but the drones at least). In cybersecurity (and federal IT), they'll listen and then ignore it all because it costs too much, or is too much of a hassle because they're too important. And then call you when what they went with against your advice blows up in their face to fix it patch it up for five to ten times what following your advice would have cost them in time and cash. Add on dealing with clearances and political toadies if it's a government rig. https://freethoughtblogs.com/stderr/2019/12/28/its-still-about-the-applications/#more-13624 "The next decade of federal IT is going to be exciting. Working in federal IT is going to be like being a coal-stoker on the Titanic, except that if you survive one ship-wreck, the ship that rescued you is going to hit an iceberg or catch fire or get bombed, too." He's got stories. Click on the cyberwars folder at the footer and have fun perusing.

rants Haters/Complainers: Legacy of Spleen
Gina Szanboti replied to mthor's topic in General Discussion
It kinda stinks, but it really works. Millions of dairy cows can't be wrong! If you can't take the smell, plain old petroleum jelly works pretty good too. Certainly less expensive. -

Well, ok, I admit it then, I have no idea what you're talking about. Who else would be going on about Zeni's subscribers but Zeni? You're the one who said you believed he had some. So I yeah, I'm lost, but that's normal. No need to feel insulted. I'm easily ignored.
-
But all those people going on about it were Zeni.
-
The first one I ever saw was in MO. OH has some too.

Look long and hard at that non-compete clause. Actually, have your lawyer look long and hard at it. Those can really screw you over. A lot of companies are using them now even against unskilled workers to make sure they can't leave and get a better job. Not sure what you meant by it being silly because you aren't in sales. Companies use non-competes all the time for all kinds of employees just to try to keep them from jumping ship. They're not always unreasonable or evil, but just be sure the one they want you to sign doesn't screw you over by being too broad or too long or too whatever. Even if they're poorly written and unenforceable, they could still make you fight them in court.

What happens if the bride misses the wedding?
Gina Szanboti replied to Ultima's topic in Free-For-All
You'll Your little friend will still be married. However, since the bride was not at the wedding, he will not be able to be in the same house as her, even though he'll have to pay for it and her upkeep there. Also he should consider that divorce in such cases is not permitted, since both parties weren't present at the wedding. This is called, in legal terms, an "uncommon law marriage," and it's that way in every state as well as in 204 foreign countries (Sealand and The Principality of Hutt River do not recognize this type of marriage). I am not a lawyer, but my advice would be to not marry her, and to stay far away from her to avoid any potential misunderstandings, unless he wants to spend the rest of his life paying to stare at her through windows. She snoozed, she loses, amirite? -
I love these. Also google "fairy doors" "tiny doors" and/or "mouse doors" for some really neat pics of wee doors like these, esp in Ann Arbor and Atlanta. There used to be a bunch around Minneapolis, but a couple years ago some asshole made it his mission in life to systematically destroy them, and I don't know if he ever got bored and moved on to wrecking something else, or if they recovered or not.

I didn't mean that's the first time I've ever seen one. Just that that one was the first one I ever saw, lo those many years ago, when I was still trying to figure out who he was and whether his schtick was serious or a parody. Tbh, while I think it's the former, I still can't be entirely sure. Poe's law, and all.

I duuno, except for the one missing eye-heart and the oversized mouth, it looks pretty much like the figure on the package, if a little blurry. Now the one with the black ichor bleeding from its empty eye sockets...yeah, that one needs some work. I think my neighbor has lost it. She's been singing "Time of My Life" a capella at the top of her lungs for the last hour. Should I check to see if she's ok?

Lol! I think that's the first zeni vid I ever saw. First of, what, 3 that I ever watched any of? Kinda nostalgic, I guess, like remembering that time long ago when I drove past an 8 car pile-up after a dust storm.

They couldn't manage another 2 seconds to let the song finish?

He thinks he's doing Overly Attached Girlfriend, which seems normal to him.

How insulting must it have been for the first laugh?

Yeah, that works. -

Maybe arguing's too strong a word? I mean, I wasn't feeling angry, and it wasn't anything that mattered. My house shaking was just more attention-grabbing, so I didn't feel like putting any more thought into a rejoinder. -

Why did that make you sad-face? -
Welcome to Demon School, Iruma-kun! (aka Mairimashita! Iruma-kun) Just watch the OP (a few times). If you don't like it, you can skip the series (but you'll be missing out on a lot of spirits-lifting fun - and it does have a plot!).× Ok, what. the. fuck. How did a link to Poof's "Peak Karen" thread get slipped in there under an x? Why is there an x? Why is it a link? Where's that haunted house thread again?
-
You gave it as an example of something "we" do, so I figured you included yourself. I did ask to be sure though. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I legit think my house might be haunted

The earthquake was also irrelevant. Just giving out the play by play of my life, since I was tired of arguing the point and I didn't care if I lost.
