Wait, is this a sequel to shorts or it's own thing? It's not that being loosely related to Rick and Morty necessarily makes it bad, but from the perspective of someone who hasn't actively watched anything on Adult Swim in years, I was aware of anime shorts for R&M and didn't think they would be relevant. I assumed it was a reboot of sorts. I don't even mind it being different from the original. I haven't been a fan of R&M since basically the first season. It's just fucking bizarre from an outsider look, and seems to be no less so from regular viewers too. It definitely has the FLCL syndrome. Personally, I think those sequels are bad and miss the point of the original. Maybe they could be fine as independent works, but attaching it to FLCL is like telling someone to make a passion project for something they aren't passionate about.

I want to judge it as its own thing, but the forcefeeding of Rick and Morty imagery and late series plot points with no interest in actually exploring those elements is plain distracting. This would work a lot better if they dropped the Rick and Morty angle and used the empty space from removing pointless references to smooth out the rough edges on the script.

Only posting this because RFK Jr's life is fascinatingly absurd. Part one is mostly about his upbringing, but he finds brilliant ways to toss out any amount of empathy that may have once been warranted.

He also thinks a single batch of semen from a 43 year old had been in his balls for 47 years.

I was joking, btw. I don't know anything about him. Setting that aside, it's probably true.

Someone probably pointed out that milk spoils after a few weeks, so he'd be suggesting to get semen from infants. Upon realizing how absurd that is, he covered his tracks by adding a whopping 4 years. That milk is still quite spoiled, though.
