  1. I miss when bland and mediocre wasn't such a high bar....
  2. It's excellent. It starts a bit slow with the first 8ish episodes being primarily hit-or-miss comedy, but even then season 1 episodes are all under 20 minutes. Then the entire second half of the season slaps and never stops. Here's a non-spoilery (like episode 3 or 4) fight that's also nowhere near the best one. Re:Zero is definitely worth the watch. For season 1, the director's cut is the ideal way to watch it. It's a great show, top 10 material for me.
  3. They both have merits. I probably would've dropped Scissor Seven after 3 or 4 episodes if I watched it weekly, and that's a pretty generous estinate since I would've likely forgotten about it between episodes. But then I would have missed the random side character Avengers arc and the absurdly badass chicken fight arc and all of the other things that are too cool to speak of and why has nobody watched this show?!?! I like more dense things weekly. Anyway, the moral of the story is watch Scissor Seven, Japanese or Chinese dubs are the best ones. The English dub is actually kinda amazing but botches most serious parts.
  4. Well, in Highrise Invasion's case, the show is pretty bad.... I love Highrise Invasion and desperately want more of it. But it ain't a good show.
  5. We would have Netflix in a post-apocalypse.....
  6. I'm pretty sure that's just the style. A lot of anime with short episodes and are based on gag manga look that way.
  7. Say what we may about Netflix, if they kick the bucket and nobody picks up Scissor Seven..... .......
  8. Alas, Rick and Morty gets the recognition it deserves: Losing to a better show.
  9. If you want a Metal Gear Solid anime, play the games. They come with a built-in anime. Very innovative for its time.
  10. At first losing the insane number of posts felt pretty bad but I'm glad a significant chunk of my insufferable, smug bullshit got wiped. What was I going to do with the posts? Look at myself being a complete asshole for years? Lethal doses of cringe on UEMB, much less the prior iterations.

    Xenoblade 3

In what way? There were a few hammy JRPG obligatory "we'll make our own future" stuff toward the end, but outside of that I thought it was a pretty solid ending. The side quests are generally very good and open a lot of the worldbuilding/characterization. Most of it was worthwhile, though I'm still working on the quests I missed. XC1 is my sentimental baby, however XC3 was the best on virtually every critical level. Didn't slam me emotionally as hard but Chap. 5 ended on one of the best sequences in the Xeno franchise (Xenosaga included, no XCX or Xenogears included since I haven't played or completed those respectively). Even after beating 3, I'm having a lot of fun screwing around with party composition.
  12. I remember one when I looked up at the sky and started falling off the ground. I just watched the sky coming at me. But suddenly I woke up midair falling off my bed and landed on my face. Like I opened my eyes and saw the floor coming at me.
