  1. However, both Christianity and karma do result in a positive/negative eternal after death "result" so to speak. Reincarnation is technically less eternal insofar as things to reincarnate into exist, but in theory both reincarnation and the afterlife are supposed to be eternal. Personally, I think the values if Christianity are in more conflict with the values of Christianity than they are with karma. Karma has, like, consistency.
  2. Season 3 was pretty good. Not sure how I felt about season 4. Been looking forward to season 5. Didn't know it started. That's cool.
  3. This Watch Mojo list belongs on the Watch Mojo top 10 list of most normie Watch Mojo top 10 lists.
  4. I've only seen some of Mushoku, so I can't comment on Redo. The Mushoku fanbase will tell you it's a redemption arc and you're not supposed to root for him at first but he grows and changes to not see women purely as sexual objects. But, like, he still bangs a 15 year old he already molested when she was like 12. Then marries her and 2 other girls he had similarly inappropriate interactions with. So the redemption arc was going from a sad, fat, and ugly shut-in who consumes CP (anime implies it, I've heard it's unambiguous in the light novel - the Yen Press English release apparently censored that detail) in one life to successfully grooming 3 girls while not sad, fat, or ugly in the next.
  5. I only accept sponsorships for things I use myself, which is why today I'm sponsored by [checks script] Raid Shadow Legends! 🥳 It's, like, a game or something, I think. Link in the description!
  6. I feel like I already said this but don't care enough to check. I'm having a hard time coming up with unpopular opinions, but I'm probably the only one.
  7. Captain Marvel is my favorite MCU movie. No, it isn't good. It's quite terrible. Excluding anything phase 4 onward (haven't seen, most look unwatchable), it was easily the worst one. It was also fucking hilarious.
  8. Something more interesting than Made in Abyss.
  9. Not missing much on Mushoku. Subaru was definitely written with that intent, especially season 1. 🫤
  10. I'm pretty baffled by the regular comparisons to Re:Zero. Mushoku represents everything Re:Zero criticizes and they're actively antithetical to each other. The only things they have in common are isekai and protagonists that aren't always likable, but Rudy is just rewarded for his bad behavior while Subaru gets absolutely brutalized for his and has to change just to survive. I'm pretty sure when I watched Made in Abyss initially I wasn't as cognizant of its sussy elements, though I'd probably get quite a bit more frustrated with it now. You're not the first person I've seen point it out, in fact.
  11. Partially, not entirely though. Just as an example, we can look at that sequence of events: When you break down the series into the core narrative surrounding Rudy's interactions with young girls and attempt to apply the supposed redemption arc, the result is very disturbing since he really doesn't redeem himself while the series treats him as if he does.
  12. Mushoku legit pisses me off. It's the type of thing where people will defend the content purely out of personal need to feel like they only like good things. Sorry guys, but a redemption arc requires a bare minimum of a redemption and an arc, neither of which Rudy ever has. Fuck, I brought up Mushoku and now I'm tilted over it when the thread has little-to-nothing to do with it.
  13. While I'm not a huge fan of Sorce's argument, I have to point out the blatantly pro-pedophilia Mushoku is one of the most popular isekai. It's not even subtle, so I'm not convinced this argument holds much water.
  14. About as long as it took to pick a gif, so a couple minutes I guess.
  15. Yeah, that's pretty much it. It's just a tool*. What matters is how it's used. *excluding sentient ones, of course
  16. AI art is going to be a new art form and will inevitably destroy the stranglehold corporations have on media. Taking existing material and transforming it is not theft. Fair Use includes transformative work as a protected right. If it is clearly a new work, even if it contains remnants of existing art, it is not theft. AI art on its own is not inherently bad. There are good and bad applications of it. Divorced from industrial or economic implications for the near future, I have not heard a single criticism of AI art as a creative medium, a meduim in its infancy no less, that do not come off as deluded out of touch ravings of pretentious cringe goblins too scared to become obsolete, neglecting that one art form existing doesn't negate the existence of all before it. I play video games and have read a book or two. One doesn't pose some existential threat to the other. AI art won't make painting impossible, you fucking idiots.
  17. I've never really watched Venture Bros but always wanted to. As far as non-anime AS-shows, my picks are kinda out there: Moral Orel and Xavier.
  18. If a story is ruined by spoilers, it's an indication that the story sucks.
