My father had daddy issues of his own too. He had quite an argument with my paternal grandfather to the point he said he disowned him. My grandfather then left a voicemail to my mother, divorced to my father, saying that he loved her and to call him. She never got a chance to, as he died a week later. My father broke down in tears so many times at his funeral. He said he hopes I never have to feel what he felt there. Don't worry, "Dad." I know I won't. 🙄 And that's just the tip of the iceberg. I normally don't give a shit about father's day or think about my father during this time of year. Maybe I'll reveal more of my thoughts, depending on how this thread goes. Or not.
