  1. I thought about watching the first one right after it came out, but when I heard more about the plot, I knew that it would absolutely bore the fuck out of me and added it to the bottom of my watchlist. Then I saw Cloverfield and it got added to my 'Cold day in Hell' list.
  2. If I do this the good parenting way, I'll go with nice sounding geeky names like Menolly(Dragonsong), Mat(WoT), Shelley, Jules, Conan, Arthur, Serenity(Sailor Moon), Aeryn, or Crichton. If I do this the 'my kids are gonna have to suck it up' way, Polgara, Belgarath, Belgarion, Kagura(Gintama), and Lupin(HP and LupinIII) are on the table.
  3. It's a Chinese novel and not manga, but I'll still post it. The Reader and Protagonist Definitely Have to Be in True Love Chapter 51.1 This is so friggin adorable, and I didn't expect to love it so much.
  4. Here you go. https://www.mangaupdates.com/series.html?category=Wuxia
  5. Just click Categories on Mangaupdates, type wuxia in the search bar, and then it'll bring up a bunch of stories.
  6. I've got 4,036 words so far. Due to reading way too many fantasy Chinese novel translations lately, my brain felt the need to crack out a Xianxia novel.
  7. You ever experiment and try to make a copy of it?
  8. I finished episode 3, and I like parts of the show. My problem is that the daughter is the only likable character in the Strucker family, and I care more about everyone else. It doesn't help that the Strucker parents have to play catchup with the reality of their situation and too much time is spent on that when there are more interesting characters like Lorna.
  9. *Rushes to google* Dammit! That title is already taken.
  10. Nyooope. Found footage films always annoy the shit out of me and after seeing Cloverfield, I ain't touching another one unless it looks amazeballs. As Above, So Below does not fit into that category.
  11. I preferred watching the ovas before season 3 just to see the Elite 10's personalities introduced.
  12. How dare you feel shame for buying such an awesome treasure! https://www.amazon.com/Darker-Than-Black-Season-1/dp/B004GZZH6W
  13. I just bought Darker than Black season 1. I've wanted to have this for years, but was always too broke to shell out a 100 bucks on it. It didn't bother me too much at the time that I missed out on buying it at a reasonable price because I had just gotten Baccano before that one went oop. After this, I'll only need Shonen Onmyouji and Paranoia Agent to complete my oop buys, and I can enter nerd contentment.
  14. :'( They're scaring the little baby.
  15. I just got my candy haul because the early cheap bastard gets the nice chocolate.
  16. Blame Spacey. His response to Anthony Rapp's statement was a fuck-up on three fronts. 1. His response was pure publicist-speak which is the worst kind to give in this situation because it was will always sound insincere and not deliver the intended message. 2. As famous as he is, intentionally or unintentionally conflating his behavior with being gay hurts the lgbt community. 3. There's a line in Spacey's response that says "he's examining his behavior." That line sets off warning bells because it's something that a lot of those caught who end up having multiple victims say. This creates paranoia among studios that Rapp won't be a one-off and more people might come forward. They do not want the blowback from that possibility right now.
  17. *Sigh* I despise you, but I'm still obligated to do this: GET IN THE HOUSE, CARL!
  18. This is probably part of why it's still relevant.
  19. People warn you not to watch this show hungry, but that's a lie. It doesn't matter if you ate twenty minutes ago or right then, it's like your stomach instantly becomes empty while watching and then it's torture seeing all the food you can't have.
  20. As a person too broke to buy candy until after Halloween and is staying inside with the porch light off because it's also too fucking cold. I've done my time year after year, so I've earned this night off.
  21. What is this from?
  22. I was 11 back then, but yeah, having money is a must if you want to enjoy yourself.
  23. For regular burgers, I mix up meat with salt and pepper, use this seasoning outside the patty, and then cook it in butter. Last week, I made a good slaw burger with salt, pepper, Chinese 5-spice, and a dab of chui chow chili oil( ) mixed in the meat.
  24. I've been to the '96 Olympics. Depending on the location and how little money you have, it can be a miserable experience. Most of it is cordoned off from regular walkways so that even when there aren't games going on, you couldn't see any athletes. The upcharge of food and drink is even higher than regular sporting events, and your only access to cheap water are locals who take pity on poorer folks attending and are willing to lose major profits just to make sure people stay hydrated. I did have one nice day where my family and I ran into deserted areas that were behind big ticket events and big name athletes chilled while talking to kids. The rest of it sucked. Depending on how much money I have at the end of 2018, I would consider going to the 2020 Olympics in Japan just to wipe that crappy experience from my mind.
  25. I hate the interviewer so much because I would never be able to rock those glasses. One time, goddammit, just one goddamn time I want to be able to say this in the perfect situation. Oh and not die.
