A lot of owners are greedy jerks. I will say, however, that there are cases where the owner and the city cover the construction costs together as a show of good faith on both sides. The city gets a venue that will allow it to make money not just at the venue itself, but also (ideally) at surrounding establishments, especially during a good year for the team. Plus, and I've mentioned this before, if your NFL team has a retractable roof stadium or at least a domed stadium (or even just located in an area known for having warm weather for most of the calendar year), your city has a good chance of being selected to host Super Bowls, college football bowl games, college football games in general (like season kickoff games and neutral site rivalry games, for example), WWE events (like this year's WrestleMania over at SoFI Stadium), concerts, and in the case of retractable roof/domed stadiums, conference and national basketball tournaments, particularly the Final Four. And that means (at least usually) a lot of people coming from all over just to attend the event. Is it silly and even maddening at times? Absolutely. But it also comes with its perks, especially if it's a great sports facility. -

I guess the NFL decided no price was too high to wrestle control from the hands of a massive dickhead like Dan Snyder. I mean don't get me wrong. I'm more than happy Snyder's no longer an NFL owner. Guy was -- and is -- a giant asshole. But that's just too high of a price. The commissioner and the other 31 owners should've gotten together and voted to kick him out with the understanding that this is a very special case where drastic action needed to be taken and brought in someone to buy it for half the eventual purchase price. (But that's just me.) But they decided they'd rather "oust" him by having him sell the franchise than just outright remove him. I get it, though. It would've set a precedent that no owner is really safe, even if they made a point to say this would've been a one-time thing. -
I like his new theme though. It feels so Beethoven. (Because it is Beethoven.) Vela: He's a professional wrestler currently signed to AEW; also, his dad is the late Luke Perry.

I had some homemade poor man's stroganoff. (I say poor man's because it was made with ground beef.)

Yep. Kinda weird. Then again, I’ve always believed that the NFL should have a rule, where if the kicking team kicks the ball through the uprights during kickoff, they should get three points. 🤣 -

I was not aware of that. I came back to the boards in January around the end of the NFL regular season. If that's the case, that's great. Either way, my bad. So if that's the case, it would be up to scoob if he wants to run it this year, which again depends on how much interest there is. -

Back to the fantasy football question. I just realized this as well: If empty doesn't come back to run it, the person running it this year would have to make a new league. This is due to the fact that to the best of my knowledge he was the only one who could revive it. But if enough people want it (and are able to participate), we will have one. -

Yep. Also, there's something that either team can score on special teams called a rouge. It's a little complicated, but this article from the Sporting News does a decent job explaining it. -

yeah, I want to get back into fantasy football this year as well. There are only two problems: First, if empty isn't running it, we need to find another person. (If nobody wants to do that, I'd be more than happy to.) Second, we need to make sure we have enough players. I'm thinking if we have at least eight, we'll be okay. But then, it's a matter of having an even number of players. Ideally, I'd eight players. It's small and manageable. However, if we have 12 players, it would be better for scheduling. (It might also allow me or whoever runs the league this year to form two six-team divisions.) Let me look into this and check back with you later. Deal? -
Aw, man. I hate to hear that. I hope you are still able to get what you need.

Well, yeah. I understand. I feel for you.

Oh, they do use yards like we do. They just have 10 extra yards from goal line to goal line plus end zones that are 20 yards deep. The dimensions are really weird. -
Ah, yes. Someone else with crippling anxiety. (Or it at least sounds like you have crippling anxiety, anyway.)

I know what you mean. I watched some USFL and XFL games during their respective seasons, but it just didn't feel the same. (Oh, and you mean the Roughriders vs. the Stampeders? Yeah, some of the names of CFL teams are a little...out there. lol)
