reverse image search doesn't find any other instances of this photo as of right now, which isn't surprising because it's so new. but i'm gonna need more convincing before i believe it. -
Official U.E. Aquarium & Fishkeeping Discussion Thread
wacky1980 replied to ben0119's topic in Free-For-All
we kept an angel tank for a few years (plus some clown loaches and other random inhabitants), even got a pair to mate and produce offspring. that was pretty cool. eventually they all died though. i think it had something to do with our water. the dechlorinator is supposed to remove the harmful elements, but every major water change was always super-stressful on the tank. it would take several treatments and constant monitoring for a couple weeks before we could get it stablized again. and we weren't terribly keen on buying 50 gallons of distilled water whenever we cleaned the tank, so we just dealt with it. when the last angel died about a year ago, we took the tank down for good. now that we've moved, we are considering setting up a saltwater tank. i think the kiddos would enjoy some live rock and a couple tangs or eels or something. -
jeez. the ue cleaning lady needs to lay off the adderall. she's going a little overboard on the combining threads stuff. now am i supposed to keep global warming threads separate from my eclipse nutfest?

we missed most of the ice from the #icemageddon over the weekend. most, not all. it's warm-ish out now, nothing falling from the sky and above freezing. i'll take it for january.

dicks out, eh? are we breaking in dat fresh new ass or ...? so i guess i need to know today's color, in case we go thru with this op gauntlet that's been thrown.

yep. i'm actually considering moving my viewing location to just a couple miles east of the 8/21 point of greatest duration. i'd miss the greatest duration by about 1/10th of a second by moving off apex, but the tradeoff is pretty cool. the 2024 eclipse will also pass directly overhead at the same point, near the east shore of cedar lake. two total solar eclipses passing directly overhead, 7 years apart, in the same spot. now that's pretty cool indeed. http://www.eclipse2017.org/2017/overlap.htm

I drunkenly tried cutting my own hair the other day
wacky1980 replied to Zenigundam's topic in Free-For-All
i was really hoping you were talking about cutting your ball hair, and that the blade slipped and you ended up castrated. you disappoint me once again. -
i'm gonna be at the exact point of longest duration for this eclipse. had the date blocked off for almost 3 years now. if anyone wants to join in, i'll be setting up camp somewhere in giant city state park, SE of makanda. then we wait until 4/8/24 for the next one to pass through my backyard again...........

if you're gonna drink a cider, at least drink something decent, without all the adjunct / sugar content. look for a traditional dry cider. i'm a beer man (pretty sure everyone already knows this, but fuck it). i'll drink anything, but i prefer stouts and ales. a well-produced imperial stout is quite possibly the best thing there is.

i'd probably start by avoiding this place and any advice that comes out of it. but that means i'm telling you to not take the advice i just told you to take, so now we've created a paradox. this is gonna have a negative impact on the price of tea in china, fur shur.

if there's one thing i know, it's that this will be a walk in the park for you. sure, the park might be riddled with booby traps (lol, i said boob) and land mines, and the footpath has been moved and moved again, making the journey through the park somewhat daunting. but it's still the same park and you're still on the same journey. no matter the outcome, you're still walking the path. with that being said, we're here to walk with you. so here's to a long walk on smooth terrain.

so i'm gonna be fighting this guy. i gotta say, i still like my chances.

i slopped together a message board on the zetaboards platform back in like april, when it became obvious that the nodebb experiment was going to be a colossal failure (the mod-everyone situation perhaps? can't recall). pushed it for about an hour, and picked up like 3 users. then the boards started functioning like normal again, and i let it slide. kept my boards up though, just in case the asmb died and people wanted a place to go. then when i got the pm about this side project, i abandoned all hope for my little pet. it's still alive, but i haven't updated it since maybe october / november. it was pretty cool, i had it all murdered out (lol is that still even in the lexicon?) and managed to strip out all the extraneous bits except for their required banner ads. got it attached to a custom url and everything. what a fucking waste of time! oh well, this place has better aesthetics and *a lot* more traffic anyways.

just keep they mouth-eyes away from my monitor and we'll be fine.

dave mirra (41) died of apparent suicide and was suffering from CTE. big ang (55) died of cancer. joey feek (40) died of cancer. phife dawg (45) died of complications due to diabetes. chyna (46) died of overdose. prince (57) died of overdose. christina grimmie (27) was murdered. anton yelchin (27) died in a car accident. miss cleo (53) died of cancer. lady chablis (59) died of pneumonia. alexis arquette (47) died of heart failure / hiv. jose fernandez (24) died in a boating accident. george michael (53) died of heart failure. ricky harris (54) died of heart failure. carrie fisher (60) died of heart failure. of all of these =<60 deaths, only a few i would consider "untimely," like anton yelchin, christina grimmie, jose fernandez, and possibly dave mirra and prince. but is that list of 15 really a lot of premature death, let alone untimely? i would guess not, but since we can't just guess at these things on a former cartoon message board and get away with it, let's look at 2015: marque lynche (34) died of acute alcoholism. scott weiland (48) died of overdose. flip saunders (60) died of hodgkin lymphoma. johnny strange (23) died in a wingsuiting accident. moses malone (60) died of cardiovascular disease. darryl dawkins (58) died of heart failure. bobbi kristina brown (22) died of probable drug overdose. jackson vroman (34) died of accidental head trauma. beau biden (46) died of brain cancer. sam simon (59) died of colon cancer. taylor negron (57) died of cancer. stuart scott (49) died of cancer. don vito margera (59) died of kidney failure. and there were a lot of icons 60+ that died in 2015 as well, like leonard nimoy, bb king, christopher lee, dick van patten, frank gifford, yogi berra, wes craven, ben e king, rowdy roddy piper, fred thompson, lemmy, and ernie banks. i just don't think 2016 is unique for any reason, other than people's obsession with celebrity has maybe reached a new high.
-
not to minimize the death of debbie debbie debbie or anything, but i was watching tv (i think it was nbc, one of their regular prime time shows) and the network felt it necessary to make an announcement about her death in a crawling message during the broadcast. really? was it so profoundly important that it had to be announced at me while i'm in the middle of a new law & order? celebrity obsession is the reason so many people are bent about all the 2016 celebrity deaths, not this notion that a disproportionately large number of celebrities died in 2016.
-
yeah, i do actually.
-
you fucking southerner and your fucking coke habit. "i'll have a coke." "what kind of coke do you want?" "pepsi." in what world does that make a boot lick of sense?
-

-

credit question (WARNING: BORING ADULT TALK)

any of the rewards cards feel too much like a gimmick to me. granted, i have one (amazon card), but it's the only one and i only got it because i didn't want them to have my debit card info for paranoid reasons. i have had a bank of america card for like 12 years, with no annual fee and an interest rate of 6.99%. it's the only one i've ever really carried balances on for more than a few months at a time, and only because it's not much more expensive to use than getting a loan at a bank. not sure how i qualified for it back then, but here we are. -

what is it, like 5 hours to drive to philadelphia? you need to hit the road and open that tin can up a little bit before it dies of boredom. and stop wasting miles on puddle jumping.
