  1. wife is watching that. she like. i'm trying to get into "dark" but it's subbed and that makes the whole thing annoying. also, although i'm still early on in this series, it kinda feels like a lamer version of "stranger things" meets "hotel bon sejour" (two netflix series i rather enjoy).
  2. this much is true. but our new cats use their pet bed daily. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
  3. they may not be sleeping with you, but your debit card info is in bed with them now. freeze that shit pronto.
  4. it depends on where the meat came from. if it's store-bought, i season the sheeit out of them. worcestershire, lawrys, garlic powder, black pepper, and some ranch seasoning if i have any. if it's the good stuff straight off the farm, i like to let the natural flavors do the talking. i might just add a little salt, and sometimes a farm-fresh egg. i also dimple my patties because they seem to hold their shape a lot better that way. and top them off with a chunk of extra-sharp cheddar. my favorites are tillamook and shullsburg creamery.
  5. i found mine on the wayback machine. i would guess people can stumble into their own from this link. https://web.archive.org/web/20151114050734/http://boards.adultswim.com/
  6. i also drank and made art last night. well... not actually art, but i designed some graphics for t-shirts we're making as xmas gifts for our employees.
  7. we got a dusting last night, but i think it was our 2nd or 3rd snow of the season. all of them have been disappointing though
  8. i think i had around 21k on lithium. no idea on nodebb or the other iterations. probably <25k altogether.
  9. at one point, i think we had over ten pinnacle vodkas on the back bar. between those and the puckers, ugh. our house vodkas are always some amazingly cheap crap. barton, mccormick, another one with a horrible russian-looking name. i'll use it for cleaning, but i dare not drink it. if i'm drinking vodka, i'm drinking a distillery in my hometown called "blaum bros." and it's fucking good. they have a habanero-infused vodka that works great with the chipotle / dill pickle bloody mary mix we carry. oh, fuck, now i want one.
  10. i almost forgot to mention the bloody mary. my favorite non-beer alcoholic beverage. we found a guy in chicago that runs a family buisness making bloody mary mixes, sour mix, and a few other juices. OHMYFUCKINGCHRIST dude's mixes are amazing.
  11. raspberry flavored / infused vodkas are juuuust a bit of a fad these last few years, and it seems like everyone makes one or has at one point. we mostly use a brand called "pinnacle" at the bar and it goes over alright, but it's a well-quality vodka. i think we also carry ciroc red berry, which is good but a little pricey. absolut makes one that's ok too. a good mule is more about the quality of the ginger beer than the vodka, imo. a good ginger beer and fresh lime juice will mask a cheap vodka all day.
  12. i've been digging beer-as-ingredient beverages lately. mostly stout/porter and different types of coffee, but also heavy ipa's with fruit juices.
  13. next time you have a mule, replace the standard vodka with raspberry vodka. mmmmmmm.
  14. that's some pretty good stuff. southern tier has a 2x series stout that's also decent.
  15. that's why i stick with beer. you can go so many different directions that you're bound to find something you can enjoy. wife just started getting into sour beers (thank goodness). she's more of a wine / cider type, but sours give her a fruity-but-not-sweet drink option that doesn't make me look like a girly man, walking out of the bar with a pack of angry orchard under my arm. as a bomb or a cocktail on the rocks?
  16. it's not much more than fremented honey and water.
  17. i haven't tried making mead yet, but my sister does occasionally. she uses raw honey from her own bee colonies and fruit from her farm. it's not too bad, but mead in general is too sweet for my taste.
  18. i'm a beer guy. i like to drink it, make it, and study it. no particular style is my favorite, but i prefer to stay away from lagers.
  19. i just put a "signature" manhattan on my list at the bar. we use rye whiskey and ditch the orange peel, and it works pretty well.
  20. i didn't have it paid down as low as i should have because i had to refinance two years in (getting rid of that ex was expensive) but we made enough on the sale (after loan payoff and closing costs) to put a new roof on our new house. i'm good with the outcome.
  21. i mean, if you insist. i can still send to your home address. or i can just come on up there and have someone paint you an original.
  22. i started at 97,500 and had dropped to 88 by time the buyer came along. we closed at 82. i bought it for 68 in october 2007, right before the bubble burst. yeah, yeah, i know that's peanuts for a house. one of the advantages of living in the middle of nowhere.
  23. a year (actually about 15 months) was pretty long for this area. i think the average for this zip code is like 4 months. i had it priced a little high because i was confident the market was stronger than it turned out to be, and i had tenants for a portion of the time so i didn't push too hard for a sale. it appraised up about 25% from when i bought it 10 years ago, which i figured wasn't terrible considering i didn't make any improvements with the exception of a new roof and some cosmetic stuff.
  24. the sale process was stressful enough (buyer used usda program, ugh). but having it sit on the market for over a year, dealing with shitty tenants, and paying two mortgages was just the best.
  25. i had considered sending you all big prints of my lily-white ass, but the post office said delivering them to people's places of work would constitute sexual harassment. can't be too careful these days, so that idea's out. sorry.
