being rid of the old house is the last step of getting around the bs i put myself through with the almost-first wife. so that sale was a little extra sweet for me.
-
i also put in a full day at the bank (skipped out for 30 minutes for the house closing but otherwise), and put together some xmas beer orders from one of my craft distributors. i'm bein a busy boy!

sold my old house this morning. i bought it 10 years ago in october, my first home purchase. been on the market for over a year. later, bitch! then made a deal over the phone to sell an old car. that sale, i'm kinda sad about. i loved that old car, but i don't really need it anymore. also, gonna have an extra spot in the driveway again, so that's pretty sweet. now i'm looking around, trying to see what else i can unload... kids? eh, probably shouldn't.

that would make anyone cry.

who knew a blown lightbulb could cause an entire appliance to crap out? anyways, got that shit fixed right up. all the beer and cheese is sufficiently cooled once again.
-
that's great. mine isn't. time to drink up all the beer before it gets hot.

i almost built a mining rig a few years ago out of some old computer components, but it was too much of a hassle back then at like a quarter per btc. now it doesn't make a lick of sense, because scarcity.

this is an example of very bad financial advice.

i work at home a lot for bar stuff because it's impossible to do some of that shit while actually at the bar. we put together a home office last month because it's hard to focus when you're hanging out downstairs with the kids running around and tv / music going. i actually get shit done when i'm in the home office, but i tend to immerse myself into my work and lose track of time, especially with the design stuff we've started working on for the bar. focus isn't my problem; it's the lack of free time to dedicate to the work. i usually don't get started til after 9pm when the kiddos are bathed and sleeping, and before you know it, it's 2am and i have to be up at 6 for the day job.

Which laptop PC works better: Chromebook or Windows 10??
wacky1980 replied to J.M. Matthews's topic in Free-For-All
i've had a chromebook for over 5 years, and it's holding up pretty well. it only has 2gb of ram and 16gb of local storage, but it's still pulling in the current version of chromeOS and it's virtually immune to viruses and malware. i also have it set up to boot a linux environment called xfce, in case i want to do something that chromebooks can't do on their own (which is becoming fewer things over time due to the increase of SaaS environments). it's great, but it's not for things like gaming, graphic design, or storage-dependent things like downloading movies or having offline access to your personal media. you can do office stuff in google's drive environment (apps similar to excel, word, etc), and it's all cloud-based so you can move from device to device and have them all sync'ed up seamlessly. i usually use the chromebook when i'm casually browsing the web anywhere except my home office, or if i need to do some quick data entry stuff at my business. i also have a win10 laptop that i use for heavy lifting. i do my graphic design / print shop stuff, some light gaming, android studio stuff, my "dj" music library, and a few other things on the windows laptop. it's what i normally use while in my home office. i also take it to the bank and use it for remote desktop work. a windows computer is always gonna be more useful because it can do a LOT more. but 90% of the time you're using a computer, a chromebook can handle it (unless you're a heavy gamer or you edit media a lot). -

they're probably monitoring your internet use, being a pleb and all. they see you spending too much time on this site, so they block it (maybe just for you, maybe as a policy for all users). not uncommon. -

i said no to new cats. this is me making the best of what i got.
-
-
the one that is long-haired is black underneath and all silvery on the long parts. the short-haired one is really dark but not black. i don't like cats as indoor pets, but i'm thinking these two are ok so far.
-
nope, sister has a female black cat (pretty sure it was a rescue), and it get jumped by the neighbor's cat.
-
i said no but i was outvoted, so we ended up with two cats for the boys as an early xmas gift from my sister. she brought them up from nashville to my parents' for xmas@thanksgiving, and we brought them back home with us tonight. so far they're settling in nicely. sister thinks they're a cross between a himalayan and some kind of black cat.

Should delivery people be knocking on the door at 7.30 am

so he's a stay-at-home dad!?! awesome! -
it fucking sucks. seems like i got it from holding the new baby a lot (or that's when it would flare up anyways). then it turned into simple shit like any motion that resembled forearm curls, or holding something straight out in front of me with arms stretched. the little velcro band puts pressure on the muscle (/nerve?) and makes it not hurt as bad, but only time heals that shit. i'm very sorry for your condition.

stays home waxing his bikini line, i'd bet. -
tbqh it took me awhile to get over it back in the spring. i actually did wear one of those velcro things and it seemed to help...until i picked something up wrong or twisted my elbow just right. it took a few months before it fully went away. then again, i'm old af so that's probably why it took so long.
