i asked for clarification because i didn't read it correctly at first. when i read it again, i understood what you were saying and edited. then i responded to your ask in a subsequent post. i was never upset with you. but the resulting conversation kinda set that tone. --- ok i've steered this thread off-topic enough. ✌️

ok, so nothing in that post was in defense of the trump admin. i didn't vote them in, and i do not support them. that's what i was referring to with the "100% this or 100% that" part. it's entirely possible to dislike a democrat without supporting the republican he's criticizing. but defending that position is a real chore here, because it inevitably devolves into name calling and flaming. i regret posting last night. not because of what i said, but because i should have known it would stir up some shit. and that's not what i came back around here to do. shrug.

the explanation is unnecessary. i wasn't being snippy with you, apologies if it came off that way. i have long had an axe to grind with pritzker, and for me to elaborate on the entire thing would have been a waste of time. i was bored enough with the game to stroll in here, but not bored enough to write an essay. i didn't want to type it all out. and you wouldn't want to read it all, trust me.

Maybe you folks. I'm high AF and enjoying watching all the Midwest teams eat shit. 🤷♂️

You have to keep in mind that the entire thing is hypothetical. The courts don't have ultimate authority over the exe branch. Also, JBP is fiddling while Rome burns...

He phrased his statements in a way that don't break law. Purely semantics, but here we are.

Not sure how well you'll accept anecdote, but his policies during COVID damn near killed my small businessES. While others <1hr away flourished, our license was yanked for serving 2 people in the same space at the same time. I could go on but the effort seems wasted here.
-
Yeah but JBP is also a POS. Why does everything have to be 100% this or 100% that? Ehh, nevermind. Losing battle around here.

Anyways, not much of a fan of my governor. But this gave me a chuckle. https://x.com/JBPritzker/status/1887949566525186554?t=52n1jvy0s1idTH6Hn9g65w&s=19

the first line threw me for some reason. the second line is your ask. ok, i've put the wheels back on now, ugh. what breakthroughs is he directly, personally responsible for? hell, probably none. but he's funding things that are responsible for a lot of advancement. specifically in the space industry, the commercialization of space (for better or for worse) has made the cost of entry approachable for a lot of NGO research and sat comms. the concept of mining asteroids is hard scifi, but it's coming into focus with the advancement of starship and its ability to deliver giant payloads into orbit. i'm not gonna keep going because i'm most certainly not an elon fanboi, but i do follow the work spacex is doing.

ok, you said "i'm asking." so what then are you asking? i misread before. i get what you're asking now. brb.
-
to be clear, you're asking what musk has done that convinces me he's not 100% evil?
-
i'm apparently not 25 anymore. deadlifting kegs into pickup trucks does really fun things to an old man's lower back

to clarify, the react was to the first part. the best places for them $0 etv items is right there in h&h...and also in baby, but no more babies around here (thank the gods). ok, now back to rageposting.

as someone who's been completely compromised at least since 2017, i couldn't agree more that people should be closely monitoring their accounts and their personal data for any unauthorized changes. but people should have been doing that already. i guess if this is what it takes to get people to be more responsible with their data, then so be it.
-
ahh, the old "prove a negative" approach. idk, let's start with revolutionizing the space industry and decreasing its cost of participation tenfold in the last decade.

weird, it's almost like you don't want to bring traffic back to this site.

i'm strictly referring to the wild notion of the treasury pulling back valid deposits. nobody's minimizing your valid concerns here. i'd be right there with you if i were experiencing this as well. and if i've learned anything being married for ...uh, 14 years now, is that it's usually better to let the rant happen than to try fixing it. as a fixer, this was a hard lesson, and i'm still not great at it. eh, whatever, i tried. beer garden is going well. but that gourmet hot dog gig ... O_O

social engineering 101. systemic security breaches are almost always the goal, and often end result, of personnel breaches. listen. i'm not saying people shouldn't be scared. disco provides a valid example of the uncertainty everyone is feeling. all i'm saying is that the account pilfering threat is non-existent. like, 99.9% of people should not be considering changing their account numbers. the only folks who SHOULD be concerned about this are the ones actively scamming the gov't out of something. but then again, those folks shouldn't be resting easy anyways, so

the FED is extra-governmental. they'll be the last pillar to topple. you'd be better off spending your energy on the fear of a canuck invasion.
